That's major dish of maharashtrian cuisine ,

We make it mainly during holi.

For sankranti we make gul(jaggery) poli.

We make Rotis of jaggery and sesame seeds.

They are quiet healthy for winter.

And on sankranti we distribute sugar balls (the ones we get as Prasad in temples)

we believe that when we give these sweet sugar balls to somebody that person speaks sweetly with us the entire year.
