That's major dish of maharashtrian cuisine ,We make it mainly during holi.For sankranti we make gul(jaggery) poli.We make Rotis of jaggery and sesame seeds.They are quiet healthy for winter.And on sankranti we distribute sugar balls (the ones we get as Prasad in temples)we believe that when we give these sweet sugar balls to somebody that person speaks sweetly with us the entire year.
me me..I love this so much...After reading Charus post and then yours, I went on Google and looked at recipes. I am planning to make it this weekend. This is one of my favorites...
rashmi - one area I have not attempted yet is Maharashtrian cuisine. Past half hour I have been watching videos , bookmarking some dishes and this weekend mostly Saturday dinner will be based on this only.
