Exactly. If it is a social drama that takes place in everyday places then the writer should do the research thoroughly and learn all the processes. Then once they know the stuff they can alter it to suit themselves but still make it realistic. I understand there is a disclaimer and stuff but it still is going to the extreme sometimes.

sometimes when u look at movies like rang de basanti wer a grp of young men kill a minister and thru the help of radio create awareness and awake public..those are things which don't happen in real life yet such can be shown! It can be considered thought provoking or at least gives a sense to movie which makes it diff from reality! like if movies and real life seems same wat is the diff btw them?
So I guess one shud b able to discern when they take liberty in showing things which are diff from reality!
The helpless bahu has become an archetype in serials. It is an established classic. I guess people like the idea of a bahu overcoming lots of difficulties and not crossing boundaries etc. But that portrayal is unrealistic and sets up unrealistic expectations.

In reference to the topic it is mostly medical and law procedures that annoy me. I can get that I am supposed to suspend my disbelief that this thing may occur as it helps the story but I would prefer it to be realistic. For example, why do they keep running out of O negative blood? How do people with surgery/injury get better so quickly or why does no one ever call an ambulance straight away but wait till the whole house family is present? How many times will people lose their memory partially? etc. These things do annoy me.

EHT was a show which had immense potential.. but they spoiled it! Today in my class my prof said that Shakespeare said drama shud cater the interest of the intelligent man and not ppl who lacks ability to think! even if there is only one intelligent person to watch it shud cater him! Dramatist shud show wat he wants to show rather than wat ppl want
That's wat I felt when I compared that statement to the plight of Ind televison! For sake of TRP they ruin everything! creatives shud take the privilage to show wat they wishes than alter whole thing and show some bakwaas for the sake of TRP!
