I agree with I Love drama.
Sadly still watching the show and still going to its forum!

Though I only rant and make fun of its silliness now and stopped analysis but it doesn't even merit jokes now.

Yes Ecri Happy Birthday to Amitabh Bachchan!👏

Shivratri is observed by all for various reasons. . It is equally applicable to both men and women. From health to fortune to marriage people have different things to ask from Bhole baba. HE is one busy good in Hindu mythology.😆

It is believed that only reciting the words' om namah shivay' will please the lord. Thus, so much importance.

Its so special for unmarried girls because it is believed that the girl will find a Shivapurush like Mata Parvati got Mahadev. In some places people also celebrate the union of Shiva- parvati on this auspicious day.

BUt Vaar savitri or Savitri borto is typically for married women who fast for 5 days to ensure good health and fortune of her husband. So we can say its somewhat close to Karwachauth.

I do not like these festivals of male worshipping. Be it Rakhi or these fasts.
I understand women were at mercy of males in past. Also these rituals gave them something to do, some sense of agency. But these are not needed and make no sense.

I am a Sikh and like the fact that there are no such festivals or rituals in Sikhism. But I see many females participating in these festivals almost like a fad.

Marketing gimmicks are associated now. Jewellers, boutiques and beauticians take full advantage of this.

But it is a regressive ritual.

Anu, you're lucky.

I hate participating in such festivals.

One wastes time and money both in these meaningless rituals.

I hate the guests calling in at home. They are more interested in your own life instead of looking after their own.

But then we are bought up like this. Only I turned out to be someone who doesn't like all this.

Anu I am a part punjabi too and umm my good luck but hubby n I fast together ...we both don't believe in anything regressive ..infact we both observe this fast out of pure love n nothing else ...infact I can't even imagine wht my life wud have been had HE not been beside me all along ...my life has not been a roses and we have just been there for each other ..so KC for us is a way to show the gratitude n affection for each other ..😳
By yes I do agree a LOT of my own friends do this fast out of curiosity ..
And yes for the gen older to mine and the way it's done in India ..it's pretty regressive ...n gets onto my nerves 😡...it's best to do it away from all the hoopla of relatives ..bas
