Dunno about my Jaipur plan ATM. Will surely letcha know in advance. If at all my cuz eats my head then I may land up in Oct and have dhamaal 😃.

Me too missed you a lot Anu. Gosh, how I miss our convos, that begins with Qh and ends up on everything from pumpkins to project management...😆

Yes, working on a new project, coupled with kids exams and projects, festivals and back to back long weekends ...
Hope your cuz (who's that btw) eats your head and you land up in Oct.
I will be waiting with 7 matkas in the airport. 🤗.

Cuz is short form of cousin 😆. Remember I told you. I have a cousin in Jaipur and her hubby is a dentist. He is organising the annual dental conference this year and is going crazy and needs help so wanted me to make a trip there if possible. Let's see I'm not sure.

I was telling Neenu the other day about how I miss our crazy convos :)

Good to know you are working on a project and it's keeping you busy 😆. Yeah kids exams and projects can be more tiring for the patents than the kids sometimes 😆.

I went on a Ganpati visiting spree today at 4.30 am and saw most of the main Ganpatis of Mumbai today. I'm heading to Pune over the weekend with friends to check out some there too. Not that I'm religious but I love the excitement around the festival and some of the moortis, lighting, decoration and stage shows are very good. Must applaud the spirit of the people behind these efforts 👏.

I too went for Ganapati mela in NJ, he was huge almost towering a nearby house. Just to go on to the stage we need to pay 10 bucks ...such a rip off. Edison cops were having fun watching the crowds in rainbow color costumes.

Yes I remember about the dental conference.
4:30 am - cool. We used to visit the durga puja pandals in Kolkatta at night and be back home by 5 or 6 am.

Enjoy your Weekend at Pune. 👍🏼 Pune is a lovely city and the Ganpati Pandals there are quite famous too.
I too love the Festivals for bring about a positive atmosphere all around. And the festival season begins from Ganpati.
Coming up next Navratri, then Diwali, then Pongal/sankranti and then finally, holi.

G4W good to know that you too went to a Ganpati pandal in the US.

Gitey, would lurrrve to visit Kolkata for Durga Puja some day. I lovvve festivals here. One of the reasons I didn't take up a job in the US when I had the opportunity. I would've terribly missed the festivals, food, warmth, friends and family here. I was telling Nams the other day.

4.30 am coz that's the only time when there are not too many ppl visiting pandals. I saw 6 of them and got home before 10 am.

I lurrrve Pune and know the city well. Yeah nice city. Have been there several times on work or to chill out with friends or to visit pandals. Thank you 😳. While the Mumbai Ganpatis are known for their sizes the Pune ones are known for their lighting, decoration and stage shows. It'll be fun.

@bold: You might be already aware that if one live in NY/NJ , there is enough Indian cultural presence due to significant Indian immigrants. Independence Day and all other Indian festivals are celebrated religiously with all possible bells and whistles. We get all Indian stuff here too but at a premium price as they are considered exports. I love other cultural festivals too like St'patrick day, Brazilian Independence Day, Jewish festivals and what not. I am cultural lover and it is nice to know different traditions and my own heritagial celebrations will never be left behind by me.
