Hope is a wonderful thing, but sometimes hopelessness is more...touching. Maybe that's why you like self-destructive characters.

Damon is also kind of like that. But he's been made more dramatic, and Elena and Stefan give long lectures on his nature, which ruins everything. It should be seen and felt, not spoken about. Have you read 'A Tale of Two Cities'? I love Sydney Carton so much, because he is what he is, and no one makes a big deal out of it. They all just accept it, and he's bitter about it, of course, but he doesn't think he can help it.

Heh. I actually believe Amitabh has some brilliant songs too. Although not all of them are that famous. This is one of those songs.

A few weeks ago someone was playing old songs in my building and you could only hear them from the kitchen so my mom yells my name and I go rushing cuz I think something's wrong or she needs me to do something. I get there and she is like listen to this, it used to be one of my favourites. It's a beautiful song I hadn't heard before - Ek tu naa mila.

I completely agree. Hoplessness has a morbid appeal. Also, I think tragedy and sadness adds layers to a person happiness and joy can't.

I used to love Damon because initially he was what he was and he loved it. As was Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And as is the tragic fate of telly anti-heroes, they fall in love and then self-doubt sets in and then they become sad sloppy lovesick puppies. I hated Elena and Stefan mostly because of their self-righteousness and shove-goodness-down-your-throat attitude. As I did Angel and Buffy. It's weird. There are soo many parallels between the two verses.

I had read it ages ago, as a child. I should re-read it now that you keep mentioning it! I have a soft spot for characters like him. I'm sure I'll love him too.

No no I'm sorry. I feel like I'm in this weird place where I wanna do all these things but I know it's morally wrong and I know I will feel horrible if I went ahead and did it anyway. Plus in addition, I feel bad for wanting to do them to begin with. It's a vicious circle of self-doubt and pain.

I get bouts of sadness now and then. Too young, too soon. You know, the usual.
