I find it oddly comforting that you relate to a character like that. It's weird but I do. I'm all for self-destructive characters. There's just something about them. Besides most truly memorable people I know in real life seem to have a bit of that streak in them too.

I hadn't heard of this song before. I'm listening to it right now. It is heartbreaking.

My mother just peeped in to tell me that she loves this song.

Hope is a wonderful thing, but sometimes hopelessness is more...touching. Maybe that's why you like self-destructive characters.

Damon is also kind of like that. But he's been made more dramatic, and Elena and Stefan give long lectures on his nature, which ruins everything. It should be seen and felt, not spoken about. Have you read 'A Tale of Two Cities'? I love Sydney Carton so much, because he is what he is, and no one makes a big deal out of it. They all just accept it, and he's bitter about it, of course, but he doesn't think he can help it.

Actually my dad loves old songs and we grew up on them but for some reason, I'm the only one of my siblings who fell madly in love with them. Heh.

LOL. You should meet my sis. She puts in her earphones during family trips cuz she hates the old songs we play. They 'bore' her. *sigh* aaj kal ke baache!

Haan, dil toot jaata hai har baar. Not just because he dies, but because of Babumoshai's grief over his death. The tragedy, I feel, isn't about the person who died but about those who are left behind, who have to accept the death as a part of their lives and move on.

It's heartbreaking but I cannot ever hate Anand. And I think that I'll always remember RK as Anand. I don't ever want to know any more about him.
