I sometimes feel that some people make stupid, outrageous statement just because they want to be noticed, grab attention, set tongues wagging. I don't know why people feel so insecure.

I am in terribly bad mood. I am not a feminist. I like it when men hold the door open for me. I like it when they offer me a seat on a crowded bus/ metro. But something's are extremely offensive. I just heard this absolutely humiliating song called "ABCD" from the movie Yaariyan on radio while driving home.

"Pajama loose loose
Butter chicken and some booze
Kudiyon ka laga hai buffet
Chaahe jo kar lo choose

Ek ya do
Do ya teen
Kis kis ko main karu choose
Yahaan sab hi hai haseen haseen

Ye kudiyaan mujhse
Kya kya karwayengi

Mera astrologer bhi hai kehta
Tujhko ladkiyan marwayengi"

What the heck is that? Who allows these kind of songs to be released? I mean this is outrageous. Women are portrayed as man eaters ever ready to seduce a man at the drop of a pallu?. 😡 This is ridiculous when you see this in the light of the number of crimes against women.

I have caught the promos of this movie and it looks like a sleaze fest to me. Girls prancing around a snowed around campus in next to nothing. So if this is a youth film, so does being young getting laid and getting wasted? The camera only searches for cleavage, thrust in the audience's faces. This movie is so offensive, on so many levels. 😡

Onu, have you heard Honey Singh's lyrics?

Indian lyricists have been getting away for too long with such offensive lyrics objectifying women.

Ill tell you we are a country of contradictions- We have problems seeing a man even peck his on screen wife on TV, but we have no issues watching an offensive song like Fevicol with our family in cinemas.

Whats worse? We even teach our children to dance to such offensive songs and then show off their dance proudly.

Thankfully, no. I haven't listened to his songs, at least never willingly unless like today when I heard this rather demeaning song.

I think we are simply hypocrites in every aspect of our lives. I know people who are non vegetarians at home but have no compunction in eating non veg outside. Then we have men who would have a relationship with a woman but when it comes to marriage he would choose a homely, virgin, innocent, biddable "good" girl who is approved by his mummy dearest.

I once heard that this Honey Singh guy once wrote a highly offensive song called "Rape". I mean, seriously, this guy needs to see a shrink immediately. Is there no censorship at all?

We just don't encourage our children to dance on these offensive songs but we also stand up and cheer them.
