Mash, have you watched Neil-Manasi's TC interview from the last day of shooting?? It was a really good interview...and honestly the way both of them have approached their roles as actors has been remarkable...you can see the way they speak about their characters...especially NB who mentions that the role of Kesar has forever changed him, his perception, his approach towards his work.

There's a lot of random goofing around from NB in b/w...lol...but jokes apart, the bit where he talked seriously was good stuff. And Manasi is a damn elegant, intelligent and well sorted out lady...

@bold: Word...the exchange was so GK-ish...the little sulkiness with which she's all like, 'humesha apni manmaani karta hai'...'keh toh aise raha hai jaise you asked me if you could leave' and him replying in just as sulky a mode that woh bhi use kabhi seedha jawaab toh deti nahin...awww how adorable are they? lol

You know the thought that really struck me is not that she's too egoistic to say it implicitly...it's just how she always has been...just look at how many ppl have been telling her since ages...even within the epi...first we saw her freaking out over the fact that Kesar's memories were taking over everything no matter how much she tried to cling to Vasant and later on MB talking to her about her loving Kesar is not WRONG...while I'm not really fond of so much of family drama in the first half, and less said about the scene with Vasant the better...it was all getting too preachy for me to be honest...anyways...the fact that Gulaal doesn't once REPLY to anything that ppl keep telling her...whether it's MB or Vasant...but you can see the play of emotions on her face, in her eyes in response...and you can SEE what she's thinking without her saying it implicitly...that was the genius of how this was set up I feel...so given how they showed this realization slowly building up over the course of the epi, her running to Kesar and saying "main tujhse pyar karti hoon" just wouldn't have fit.

Instead they showed the graph SO sweetly...you can see Gulaal STILL struggling at every point to clearly spell out her feelings...she makes little stabs at it by saying stuff like, 'jaana zaroori hai?"...but Kesar doesn't let her get off that easily and ultimately you can see the way she has to work up the courage to even say, "mat jaa"...that is HUGE by Gulaal standards...that is her equivalent of shouting "i love you" from the rooftops😆...and the beauty of this scene is how Kesar understood what she really meant...THAT was the emotion in his eyes there...oh man, goosebumps in that bit...NB was so so SO fabulously emotive with his eyes there...the guy can really project a lot with his eyes...talented actor.

I didn't like the family drama AT ALL...add Vasant to that and the first half became too cringe inducing for me honestly. The whole 'Iss ghar ko teri zaroorat hai' stuff was too much for me to bear. The only scene that I like from the Gulaal realization phase (if we call it that) was her scene in Vasant's room and the conversation with MB. That, I felt, was necessary. Even though her heart pulled her towards Kesar, Vasant was one of the factor pulling her away from him...I think she felt that she was being disloyal to Vasant, his memory by having feelings for Kesar, loving him THAT way, accepting him as her husband or not to mourn all her life for Vasant as his widow...that's the general mentality of a girl like her...nahin? She thought it was wrong for her to be with Kesar because it would be disrespectful to Vasant, to his memories...to the time she has spent with him, promises she has made to him. MB freed her from all that, telling her it was not WRONG to think of Kesar that way...to want her own happiness...that was a necessary push. Vasant ko na hi laatey toh acha hota...his monologue toh put me to sleep...🥱

As for NB...I'm in love with this guy's acting, sachi. What amazing transitions of expressions were there on his face through out that scene...and that bit where she said 'mat jaa...tere begair jeene ki adata nahin rahi'...brilliant expressions by NB there...he's very expressive...and there's this rawness about him that's seen so rarely in actors these days, it's fascinating sometimes.

Exactly, I'm totally in love with his emoting there...I was blown away when I watched that the very first time...and since yesterday toh I've gotten to rewatch it more while makings sigs and stuff😆

Rawness it is indeed as you said...he brings a rawness to Kesar's emotions and that is what is what pulls you in as a viewer and fascinates you I guess.

Regarding the family drama...god don't get me started...while I did like Gulaal's reactions in the first half...the way they showed her getting an uneasy feeling even before the phone rings...the way she was holding that morchan he'd given her before leaving and it's like she got a premonition of doom and then the phone rings and I liked the fact that they didn't have any dialogues there and you feel the entire scene just through Gulaal's reactions as she gets the news...Manasi was brilliant...and then ofcourse the way she rushes to Kesar sab bhool ke and just watches him as she's sitting on the floor next to him...Manasi basically carried the entire epi while emoting with her eyes and she did superbly.

I also liked the MB scene for the same reason that you mentioned...that bit of the realization where Gulaal needed to be told that her loving Kesar is not WRONG...cuz she did carry that guilt in her subconscience somewhere that she was "betraying" Vasant if she gave in to her feelings for Kesar...so those dialogues by MB fit...the rest of the family nonsense toh I was zoning out in anyways...who ever cares what PB and saru phui etc. keep babbling...and yes, Vasant was a total snoozefest...guy put me to sleep with all his preaching too...really wasn't required...they could have shown the scene better if they had to bring him back after all.

But I am thankful that they didn't show his ghost floating around in the final celebration scene a la Rani Mukherjee from KKHH style😆

btw I've taken caps etc...I can post them here if you want.

*rolls eyes* Matlabi kahin ki :P

I do wonder why no one else makes much stuff on them though :S...I mean the more experienced sig-makers and stuff...pehle the creations gallery still used to be a bit more active but now it doesn't seem so...

Abhi ofcourse I'm toh hopeless and will go overboard making a ton of stuff on them in all my fangirliness...

I guess Gulaal in general is not a show that attracts many fangirls...although it is amusing that after the final confession scene and the GK flirting/shirting going on in the few bits in the epi after that, I see more ppl hyper over them...too bad for them the show has ended now...no potential for HAWTNESS🤣

Are you serious?? NB is such a NAUTANKI😆...the bit when he was being all "emotional" while looking at their scheduler...LOL...

But yeah the phone number bit was funny...and NB was getting irritated with MP teasing him about the ladkiyaan...haha

I dunno I guess I personally enjoy hearing about how the actors approach their roles...especially ones as complex as Kesar and Gulaal have been...

*Edit: I know I shouldn't compare but I guess I'll say honestly that the one actor I really love watching off-screen is MR...his interviews have spoilt me😆...there's such a CLASS to the man, I think I'm always subconsciously comparing on some level.
