BTW LadyM, I have been following Khote Sikkey, it started off on a great note and I think the guy who plays the cop is doing a very good job. Rest of the cast is doing a good job too I think but they are not sassy and lack spunk and kind of wit which I feel is needed for the show. However, they are not a bad caste or anything, given our TV shows, they are definitely a great option and the initial episodes had some really excellent cases I think but off-late it is turning into some kind of American crime show aping show . For starters, I don't like Hameer-Uttara /Dilnaaz-Ayush love angles, I honestly expected more out of Dilnaz's characterization, she started off well but they turned her into some kind of bimbo , I thought Dilnaaz was the rebellious tomboy type while Uttara would be the hot chick type :S. The recent cases have not been very impressive honestly, what do you think?
You know what, I agree!
The problem with KS and all other serials like KS is that:
1) They try to copy the American shows
2) The makers cannot develop the characters very well. Even in a crime story, it is essential to develop the characters without which the story lacks soul. What better example than apna BnB? While we may argue that recently it has been a little lackluster, but nevertheless it kept us hooked on for 5-6 seasons, which is not a small feat! The cases after a while become an afterthought and one needs strong characterization to keep the story moving. Which is why serials like Leverage kinda fell off my radar. Despite boasting an impressive star cast, Leverage couldn't hold my interest because the cases were same old same old, beyond a point.
3) Hameer-Uttara - no comments
4) I was actually rooting for Ayush-Dilnaaz had Dilnaaz kept up with her tomboy act and Ayush his nerdy act. Well Ayush is still nerdy, but Dilnaaz comes across as a wanna-be chick these days. I actually liked the nerdy guy, tough girl pairing, but Dilnaaz has not been able to sustain my interest these days.
5) I have no clue what Mohit's role is - apart from being an occasional drunk he just wants to "rock and roll"
6) Hameer seems to be the unsaid leader with lesser evils and overhead. But that still doesn't account for his specialty, apart from being a shrewd player and poker faced in tough situations.
I like Deshmukh and Patil the best. Deshmukh too gets repetitive at times. Not the actor's fault, but the scripts'.
But still it is one of the better serial out there these days :-)
