I don't know how statistically successful these shows are but mannnn, these tuche shows are wayyy too overrated and not just these 'hawt' S1 shows...the Saas Bahu sagas and the shows based on 'social issues' are also wayyy too popular than these YRF shows can ever be. Promotion play a huge part, I agree, and even the channel it is airing on too, but it's not just about promoting a show. It's more about using a tried and tested formula. I didn't mean that the shows should set out to change 'mind sets' (I think that's almost impossible) But I just feel that the TV audience, most of them, at this point are not ready to accept any kind of alteration in that basic framework of a show and characters. Look around, after being here at IF, realizing what the 'youth of today' wants to see, I'm not surprised that not many are making an effort to give us quality TV shows or to just think a BIT 'Out of Box'.

*sigh* Though I guess if Sony had promoted R.C a bit more, maybe it had got better TRPs and we would have gotten a second season...ahhh....*sigh*

@Nimrah: LOL yeah he did kiss her....so this girl was on laughter challenge?? No wonder she looked vaguely familiar :S she did some mimicry in a previous epi as well when Salman was on the show.


@Kavya: Poor promotion was no doubt a huge part of it.....but R.com to put it bluntly was too CLASSY for the general population....MW was a story of a fat girl obsessed with food and drooling over every second man she came across....in hindsight I'm not surprised that it got more TRPs than R.com.....99% of the IF population consists of Mahi types only.

R.com had layers....brilliant characterizations, layers, everything was interconnected....had a POINT to it....now that right there is too much sense for the average desi audience to handle.

And man, that "Manmeet" joke I can SO identify with....lol....I've lost count of the number of times I've heard a person actually going through the exact same situation.....their name is "manmeet' but the goras will always pronounce it "Man-meat" and then keep on laughing over it....idiots....lol

Kya kahoon. I was so in the mood to watch it this weekend. Then on Saturday I had to go to a housewarming party at a family friend's house. Today my uncle is coming to visit (he lives like an hour away) so chances are I might not be able to see those scenes today. :(
