Addressing you in the CC after a long time Dear Sis🤗. Loved the Tulsidas Jayanti Sig Dear! The photo of Tulsidasji and Siya-Ram are very very beautiful👏!
And Loved the Pictures from 'Sagar Website', all the photos are just Great😍!
@ Lola and Gunia,
At first, Thanks a lot for those appreciating words⭐️, but that was really a coincidence that suddenly my eyes caught that Info about Tulsidas Jayanti from the calendar. The credit goes to the Lord- Prerna /Sankalp to Wohi dete hai😊😊.
@ Lalitha, Lola and Dpka,
Enjoying the discussion about Old and New Mythos👏👏 . Along with quoting your Brilliant Views, Just wanted add my view (really a short one😆).
@ Lalitha,
I loved these portions of your post in page 90⭐️⭐️⭐️:-
"I think the biggest factor for me is that NDTV Ramayan had the feel of Ramayan. Of course, our RS one is my all time fav and will be forever, but I always like other Ramayans or Shri Krishnas based on how mythoish they feel to me. NDTV Ramayan felt like a show based on the Treta Yug…"
And from page 88:-
"Ramayan still retained the 'Ramayan-like' feeling for me for the most part throughout the serial…"
"Compared to KHMK, I'd have to say that NDTV Ramayan and JSK are God's gifts."
And about the new generations' approach to make a new serial based on those original works-"Despite the fact that they lack in today's technology, they continue to touch their fans' hearts because of the sheer sincerity and divinity displayed throughout the serial by Ramanand Sagarji. He really put in a LOT of research into the ancient scriptures for as much accuracy in the storyline as possible, that his family already has most of the work done where it concerns storyline for their new mythos today. They only need to concern themselves with how best to use today's technology to catch people's eye."
I completely agree with you Dear!
Now my addition😃:-
Actually I watched only the Uttar Kand part of NDTV Ramayan and Loved Gurmeet's performance. And also Debina's acting was also very good.
The way they portrayed Shri Ram's character was like someone from us. I think I loved this particulat element in his character. The lengthy conversations which he had with Kaushalya in the evening after the performance of LuvKush- were really nice👍🏼 . Of course, I should admit that at that time I did not rememeber the Original Ramayan , its story or its dialogue. So Loved the NDTV work, for the same reason as you have mentioned- the Feel of Ramayan. Yes they had it in those episodes. But as I haven't watched the 1st part, so can't write about the main part of the story.
BTW- Let me clarify one point, as I haven't followed JSK, so I don't have any opinion about that show😊.
@ Lola,
Now coming to your posts comparing Old and New Mythos; I loved all your ranting Dear, Enjoyed a lot! Jhappi, Jhappi and Jhappis for you, 🤗🤗🤗 maafi ki to koi baat hi nahi, I think you have given voice to the Serious Audiences' Natural Reaction after watching those shows.
Now let me quote some part of your post of page 90:
"chiming in on the Deeps-Janu new mythos discussion, I def agree on the order of preference: 1) NDTV Ramayan for great costumes, music, sets, and good acting (only minus points for the writing sometimes), 2) Meera for good performance and sometimes really touching stories, may have been fictional but still made me tear up esp during childhood epis…"
"Another point I'd make would be my appreciation for Debi in NDTV Ramayan - her growth as an actress was really wonderful to watch ……. in Uttar Kand, she totally outdid herself and portrayed such strength and devotion that she'd put any other current telly actress to shame."
Yes in some Scenes , she did a Great job indeed😊. I liked her performance in the later episodes.
Now from your post of page 96:-
". I really appreciate that they tried, that they put their time, money, and efforts into a mytho rather than a soap and created a bright spot in the otherwise blah tv landscape. however, I wish they didn't put in that much effort they sometimes worked a bit too hard and rewrote characters who were already written perfectly. that's why I put Meera ahead of JSK, cuz though so much of it was blatant fiction, the stories during her childhood epis had meaning and went well with who we know her to be."
I adored Meera😍😍, It had the element of Sincerity in it. The Devotion was shown in Such a Nice way! And the way Aashika Bhatia as well as Aditi Sajwan has portrayed the character- they were just Great⭐️⭐️! They just lived the character of Meera. They made it Real! Its true that Some incidents were exaggeration, but we always have that problem with Great characters; some way or the other, myths and legends start growing around them, and after some time it becomes really difficult to dfferentiate Fact from the Fictional Stories. Overall I can say that I tried to follow Meera regularly and was very Happy to watch it as it was able to generate the element of Devotion through its characters and direction 👍🏼👍🏼 . This time I was ranting😆😆😆…
"I do agree with you that the motive was modernization. When they did it with Ramji's character by having him fast when Sita Maa did, serve her and declare that all men should follow his example and serve their wives who do so much for them, let her win their game of chausar, play the portrait joke, etc., I was totally for it - this kind of modernization, I loved, because not only was it entertaining, it also put forth messages about love ad equality that today's world needs and that do not go against the characterization of Shri Ram that we've loved and worshiped for so long…"
Really glad to know about the element of 'modernization' introduced by the directors😊. Going with the time- sometimes it becomes necessary.
"If freaking out like that instead of being patient and forgiving like Sumitra Maa used to be is supposed to be modernization, then have virtues like patience and compassion gone out of style? And if they have, isn't it the responsibility of shows like this to bring them back in style, given that they reach out to so many people in so many places? If they added to Ram's loving and just nature by making him teach us more about equality in relationships, then why didn't they use that same creativity to add to other characters' virtues rather than reducing them to angry, irrational, and out-of-control lallus? Today's world has enough of that, old-fashioned hi sahi but I'd like to see these characters as ideals I can aspire to, not mirrors of my own faults and failings.
And really amazed to know about Mata Sumitra's behaviour! Absolutely agree with your point on 'Compassion and Patience'- you have explained it in Such a Brilliant way Dear👍🏼 Loved to read all your posts!
