Saba has forgiven those she wanted to forgive. She is bitter inside and that was evident when she retraced her steps back homewards to meet a dying woman. A woman who had torn her life apart.
She says she is no one to forgive, it is Allah who has the power to do so. By her saying "maaf kar diya" it is meaningless. The day of judgement awaits us all and only He can forgive. I gathered that is what she wanted to say. She makes no eye contact with Arfeen's family and doesn't wait a moment more than necessary. She doesn't wait even when the cow says "roko use". And Arfeen knows he has no right to do so. She says maaf kar diya to a despaerate woman who couldn't see beyond those words. Hence I said "lip service".
She remained unforgiving or distrustful of her next of kin ....... Aksa.
For me Saba remained a common but pious and kindhearted human being. She had learnt her scriptures from life. She may have got her detachment mainly because she didn't want any superfluous attachment except for her daughter. But she was not on the path of "renunciation". She had her little dreams of a prince coming and carrying her daughter away. She was a great human being and for me she became tangible because she did show human reactions of anger and bitterness. She got her peace because she was proved true and she was happy with that.

Umera put Saba on a high platform by cutting up Arfeen and making him weak. That was her folly.

I viewed Saba and Arfeen in the same light. I always back the underdogs and here both Saba and Arfeen were scapegoats. Saba found her salvation point but that was not the case with Arfeen. I wasn't impressed by the way he was treated by the author. That was my folly.

She was bitter till that moment…but forgiveness freed her from that too… in Sara's reminiscence, author clearly makes her speak… ' koi takleef nahin rahi…', besides from that point onward, actor was directed to portray constant happiness on her face…'Allah Badshah hei' was spoken in context of clemency from a crime and a 'dua- a special power which she never accepted to possess in humility. Her Hurried departure was in the same mode of very crisp screenplay where no unnecessary scenes are left unedited by director…almost to the point of disappointment, as seen in Haider-Sara track.

She remained unforgiving or distrustful of her next of kin ....... Aksa.

She had renounced her family on the day of nikah, 'khairat' of all things belonging to her including herself.

Obviously we join you in this 'folly'. We do want Arfeen to be alleviated as beautifully as he deserves, but not showed by director, befalling lacuna arisen out that exasperating 'crispness', which would be removed for us by your continuation.😊

In This context, I would say…Adil's forgiveness was 'lip service', he stayed bitter and to an extent not as happy as Saba, though not because of it.

Infact I would say, when he spoke to Arfeen he was honest and frank .................. don't come to my doorstep asking for forgiveness......he says and walks away.
He remained a true friend to Saba and stuck to his guns. No quarter asked and no quarter given. He was no namby pamby character........no sirree. That is why I had wanted to see an interaction betw them at some stage in later life. Saba who forgave (as most of you think) and Adil who didn't. It would have and could have been one of the highlights of the story.........but again Umera failed.

The final episode came a bit too soon and was a very frivolous ending. what surprises me is what was the hury,it was as if director and producer were in rush to finish the story. To make a perfect drama adaptation of a novel, one needs to balance the pace..eg. a writer would use 2 pages just to describe a country scene or mood of the character, while on canvas of cinema they have to convey message to veiwer in few seconds..i must say here is where the director failed,he had immense talent of bringing best out of such outstanding cast...as arwen said first 2 aspects of Shakespeare style story telling were great(though some interactions could have been elaborate and more slow paced),but umera failed in the summary ,she summarized in hasty half hearted way,as if she just hurriedly collected all the clutter together and instead of making the final product look all nicely arranged art creation it looks like a mess.It was as if the writer had lost interest in the story. So sad. Haider remained true to form and Sara remained the silly girl. What disapointed me most was interaction was showed in such a stupid way,yes it remained true to their cute style light romance, but it failed to bring emotions out,we viewers were left to imagine the rest......well excuse em mr producer and director..we needed closure and we did not get it with so many people left midway..what the heck was that for ,i realized average pakistani weekly dramas last 26 episodes....why were we not given extra 6 ,i fail to understand,we needed those so as to get full closure

Such a grand concept that fizzled out. Twelve minutes interlude betw the young couple was almost ridiculous. my point exactly as well
I think we saw a lot more in the characters than even the writer. She didn't probly see the nuances the way we etched them out. We were hoping and expecting a lot more from this story. I am glad it's ended in one swipe and put us out of our misery. The ending was mundane and didn't compliment the story at all.I think she tried to summarize a lot for viewers to understand in their own way which i think is lousy way of telling a story, she failed to give us a closure on some of most intense characters of this saga, naming arfeen and adil. (reminds me a bit of my disapointment in reading end of war and peace....when i find one of my fav characters left in limboo in end)
I second Arwen, it was a lousy way to end this saga. There was no Arfeen here except in the song.
If this wasn't the real ending ...... why did Umera allow it?i have to read and tell you, what i read somewhere was that the arfeen and saba part of story was just few pages in novel and rest was all sara and her interactions...but now i dont beelive it ..seriously i want to read the drama but it will take time.........as i need real book not a e- book.

i will try to reply to each post ............from now onwards as my day progresses...........

The list of characters abruptly left in suspension- Arfeen, Adil, Maharush, viewers

Abrupt abandonment…Senior Mr.Abbas,Sabia, Chachi, two sisters, Sara's Father, viewers

Discarded or never showed: Two uncles of Arfeen, Arfeen's friend, Maya…Adil's sister…viewers

😕

All are victims of director's obsessive 'conciseness'. Clearly he expects a lot from his viewers…that they should understand and infer a lot from the clues, puns and hints from the dialogues or other scenes…But overall he has presented the tale excellently and but for two or three instances, the consistency of narrative is excellent.

👏👏👏👏👏

If I had been the author of a novel, would I allow anyone to butcher it? NO. But Umera allowed it? Why so? She was involved in the making of the serial, she could have put her foot down. I suspect the story lacked the original punch and an exhausted Umera couldn't carry the story through.
There is one character in every story that resembles the author. I am being rude, but, if someone asked me which character reminds of Umera I would say Ms Nail File. That birdbrained wannabe in the last episode.
If this was one of her best works.......... I want no more of them.
Sorry

am so upset with end,i feel cheated here....umera ahmed definitely lost her brain ,if she is one of many script writers ...my most disapointment is........
sara arfeen relationship ,and their interaction psot revelation, sara's final understanding of full drama and knowledge taht it was her ammi who broke off from every one once she was found to be true....
adil sara relationship..he was shown as never married(here too we are just assuming he wasnt as hsi wife was never shown) ,hurtful about saba, still bit cold with arfeen,i would have loved to see him and sara interact more
sara aksa interaction as to hwo could her aunt do what she did to her own sister.......and then have galls to yell at others including arfeen ......will continue with list...
