yes skepy i see lot of muslims do nikah part even sometimes at engagement and yes ruksati or as we call bidaii is more south asian culture,it doesnt even hPPEN IN MIDDLE EAST like this thye just send couple ot honeymoon more like western marriges. in hindu and sikh marriges arwen we have the actual wedding part bit long like 7 pheras or rounds around fire for hindus and we sikhs have 4 rounds around our holy book .so taht s why skepy was confused i guess as nikah part happened so informaly ,but yes skepy it did happen.only thing is big marrige function for which sara was to dress up and etc did not happen, and she ran away so she has to divorce haider ,as she has th e right according to nikah conditions put by aksa, but tragedy is sara doesnt knw whole truth ,she heard part of conversation.,she needed to ask more questions and figure out why her mom did not even come back to her parents etc etc .....am seriously disapointed with her and episode was also so so..in my opinion....
be back in 2 or so days am stuck with work friends

Sami, I can not agree more…All of sudden, since after Saba's letter, the serial has taken on mediocrity as if the direction were changed.

Sara has started displaying suspected stubbornness…hope Haider will prove me wrong.

One intense curiosity is regarding Tallaq rights. Is it determined at the time of Nikahnama? I never knew anything like this…assumed Tallaq is a biased right of Husbands.

samarth women have a right to get a divorce ... its a right granted to them in the nikahnama ... however, some parents .. very stupidly .. cross out the relevant parts related to a wife's rights in marriage .. stuff like right to divorce her husband ... always astounds me how parents can do this to their own daughters but hopefully things r changing with awareness of women rights

u know guys .... for the last several episodes .. v were taken to such an emotional high ... this present day storyline was going to look drab and mediocre in comparison .... with the first 8-9 epis we saw the present day track with glimpses of the past so the curiosity was kept alive ... know that part is over ... we know what happened and how it happened ... and after all that the present track now seems mundane .... kind of like what shakespeare wd do ..... the buildup, climax and than the resolution..... v r in this third stage now

Arwen…

Very calm, measured and mature take of the current state…with brilliant analogy to the Shakespearean pattern. Pardon our heightened expectations, perhaps conditioned for constant excitement by too much of Indian soap…but then thinking further… We missed the deft touch of Director, which we witnessed even for some routine scenes previously.

A woman's rights in Islam marriage is a revelation. Amazed at knowing the fact that woman's rights are forfeited by the parents of a daughter…As to show good conduct of a girl's family?? Unfortunately our societies are heavily biased into the ways of male chauvinism…would not allow such thing to a daughter.

Also … have to add this much. Saba's dialogues were old touch. Sara's recollections on two 'Taqleef' utterances from Saba, contradicting herself, were meaningful. Saba-Haider flashbacks were short scenes…would have loved something more there, for this bonding is a very beautiful aspect of the story.

Waiting Skeptical's detailed take….

yes episode to me was a filler episode..terminoolgy used in indian soaps.....lol
i think samrath husband has right to divorce by default in islamic marriges but women's parenst can ask for conditions in nikahnama....which normaly people waive even hak mehr is waived sometimes by women specially in south asian culture,i think in middle east its diffrent.
now coming to episode.......next week we will witness lots of drama i feel, but as samrath mentioned haider and saba bonding should be shown a bit longer
now coming to my take on saba...
there is a sect in south asian culture as we all know..called sufis...
in punjab specialy now in pakistani punjab people r very devoted to baba bulle shah and ghulam farid and shekh farid.........and shah hussain (now a days we do have new trend of singing sufi songs in modern tunes too😉)
the reason i mentioned this is......bec thats what saba has become sufi...they preeched on saying be true to heart, always do good to others and pray to ultimate god and love god........and do good to humanity.
mandar dha de masjid dha de...
dha de jo kujh dhenda
wekhin kidre dil na dhaavin
rab dilaan wich rehnda..
(punjabi sufi potery of 17-18 century)
dha de means gira de ya tabah kar de
so..this is philosiphy sh ehas taken on it seems, she doesnt want to go to haj with any one's financial help she just wants to be close to god,to her prayers to god with true mind and heart is what matters,as she has seen people and their merciless hearts praying and claiming to be god fearing ..she has realized its not important what u show to world, what matters is what ur from within.
but i have started to realize that it is arfeen who is suffering the most here,he lives every day in guilt, atleast saba was at peace with her heart, she knew people who did bad to her suffered in hands of allah, and repented and are living in guilt.
but poor arfeen ,now sara is also putting him in a limboo,he has not been able to ....get peace in his life at all😭

Sara ...................... It is so sad but this character has been made into a joker. And that is very disappointing. Why did Umera do this? There has been an advance of time but this has not made Sara bolder than her mother. In fact she is more mundane than Arfeen's sisters. But that is the writer's folly:
1. She has no judgement of character at all. She doubts her late mother at the drop of a hat.
2. Aternately, she now hates Arfeen since he is the prime accused in her mother's case. She still doesn't know the full story.
3. Running away like a scared bunny would have broken her mother's heart.
4. Who is she really punishing? Haider or Arfeen? Or both?
5. Who has given her the authority to do so? Her mother certainly hasn't.
6. For a few days, she did have feelings for Haider ....... did they vapourise?
7. Why act like a fugitive when she should be the one to demand justice for her mother?
8. What is the use of all the education if there is no logic in her head and no confidence in her heart?
9. She knows Haider is looking for her and is hot on her trail...... doesn't it tell her that he perhaps cares for her?
10. When did she get the time to close her bank accounts ..?
11. Is she now planning to run away and hide herself again? What on earth for?
12. Sadly she doesn't seem to be her mother's daughter. Her father's genes are in play?
13. She doesn't know what she's going to do with her future. She has no mother to fall back on.
14. Has she never stopped to wonder why her mother asked her to go to Arfeen despite all the wrongs he has done to her?
Oh dear........ are weeds growing out of her head?
