Dil Mill Gaye:down and almost out?
Dill Mill Gayye, a show aimed at the urban educated youth, doesn't seem to hold much appeal to its target audience anymore. Viewers of the show, set against the backdrop of a hospital, are complaining that the pressures, drama, romance and personal relationships depicted between the characters lack seriousness, are boring and move at snail's pace. In addition to this, fans want to see the original Ridhima, played by Shilpa Anand, back on the show.
PRODUCER Siddhartha Malhotra reacts to these comments, saying, "I cannot change people's points of view. There are a bunch of people who like the show and naturally, there will be some who don't like it.
We have tried our best to make the show convincing and entertaining. We also try to move at the same pace as we started on."As for Shilpa Anand's absence, which causes many of these complaints, he says, "We tried to bring her back but she demanded huge sums of money which I could not afford. I forwarded the request to Star to handle the issue but even they could not bring her back. She is a good actress but just because things didn't work out between the show and her does not mean we are losing the show. Jennifer is doing well as Ridhima."
Ridhima is presently being played by Jennifer Winget and till now, the character has been changed thrice, which is confusing for the show's fan base.
Shipa reacts to Malhotra's accusations of her wanting too much money, saying, "I have no plans to get back on the show even though they call me. When I was associated with Dill Mill Gayye, I had a lot of conflict which was not solved. I am happy and it will not be possible for me to go back ever again. As for the show doing well or not, I have no idea about it."
But it's not all ill feeling that Shilpa has towards the show. She adds, "It's nice to hear that people liked my portrayal of Ridhima. It shows that I did justice to the character and I have won the hearts of the public."
Some other reasons for the show's down spiral could be a faltering script or lead star Karan Singh Grover not being able to give it enough screen time as he is busy with his other projects. To this, Malhotra says, "We have made many changes to the script and our creative department is leaving no stone unturned to keep the pace up. As far as Karan is concerned, he is a busy actor who is doing other shows so whatever times he gives us, we try and use it. And he is fair when it comes to keeping his part of the deal."
Dill Mill Gayye revolves around the protagonist Ridhima, a 21-year-old intern, with dreams and aspirations of becoming a top doctor.HHHHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHA..... DILLUSIONAL MUCH?!?
