The air was thick with tension and of course, moisture.
Swayam flicked his hair away from his eyes, his mouth twisted into a frown. These guys played pretty well. Not that the Louisians were any less but time was running short. They needed to buck up to avoid a tie or worse, a loss.
"Please bhagwan, kuch aisa kardo ki main iss team to jita saku."
A sleek SUV skidded to a stop outside the court, unnoticed by anyone.

A pair of white shoes stepped out of the door. Her lean and perfect frame followed and she looked around, breathing in the familiar air, extremely pleased. She was back, back to her college, to her second home. Waving a hand, she walked towards the 'DJ', oodles of grace complementing every step she took. She was glad to see the vibrant smiles which adorned the girls' faces; they had missed her.
Beaming at that realisation, she willingly pressed herself between Simmi's open and inviting arms, just to feel the others join in too. She'd be lying if she hadn't wanted this. And yet, something else bugged her subconcious,
Had he missed her?
--
"Sharon!"
His heart nearly stopped; and then did a double flip to catch up. Had he heard right? Or had he finally lost it and started hallucinating her presence? No, he positively felt her presence. There was a wiff of her perfume in the air. No one else wore it. Completely dazed with he turned around to see the sunlight jumping of her white dress.
Heavens.
It was that dress. The lovely dress Sharon had worn on a not-so-lovely day of his life. The abandoned corridor.
Was this way of her telling that she was willing to, for real, open the book?
His smile grew wider and his heart sped as she smiled back, blushing. That smile, he felt his innards melt as he saw the smile reach her greenish hazel eyes.
She was back.
--
He felt the pressure mounting up on his shoulders. The opponent was two ponts up and the game had barely ten minutes left to get over. The Loiusians had to win this game, and fast. The ball was passed so fast that it grew into a blur. Swayam could feel the sweat drops rolling of his skin.
"Go Swayam!"
He had to remind himself to breath. Sharon was cheering him in public. The sound of his name from her mouth nearly sent him into a tizzy. How lovesick could he probably be? Gathering his thoughts quickly, he realised they had barely a minute when the ball landed in his hands. This was it then.
It was all upto him now. Him and his ability to pull a three pointer.
He could do it.
Wish me luck Sharon.

They had won. Swayam had won.
She had never known Swayam could play basketball; could play it so damn well. Sharon wondered how many more tricks he had under his sleeve and also if she would be lucky enough to be around him and discover it.
She was overjoyed with their victory, the joy tinged with a small ache. She would deny it vehemently but she had really missed the dazzling smile on Swayam's face, the way his eyes sparkled on seeing her.
She had missed him.
It was great to be back.
--
Holding the trophy in his hands and watching Sharon cheer for him, his heart soared among the high skies. He felt unadulterated happiness, for the first time in three months and very hopeful. They'd start a new chapter in their life today.
She was back.
--
The air was thick with intoxicating happiness and ofcourse, confetti.
