'Majesty..who is the second princess to be called out for?', his guard asked so that he could convey to his father.
'No one. Kriya would be my only choice. We wouldn't have to bother about another when the Princess of second best kingdom willingly becomes my bride', he voiced with confidence without shifting his gaze for a second.
His eyes were fixed to the court's door , even though he very well knew that she wouldn't be coming anytime soon.
In a matter of few hours , the princess who had captivated his soul would be entering through those doors. For others she was here for 3 days, but Rey had some other plans. 3 days were enough for him , to complete what he left at the function where he had first set his eyes on Princess Kria. 3 days were enough for him to convince her to be his forever.

He heard the voice of the guard announcing the arrival of Princess Kria.
Being a prince , Rey had been taught to not let his emotions be seen in public. So he had to mask up a straight face to prevent the grin from forming on his lips.
There , through the doors entered Kria , looking like a deity. She had this aura around her that just pulled him towards her.
Their eyes met , and Rey for sure knew he wouldn't let that hazel pair of eyes look at anyone else rather than him.
She gave him a smile and he for sure knew he was grinning. He got up and walked to her taking her hand , and kissed the back of it.
"Pleasure to meet you again Princess."
She returned his greeting with yet another smile. He could see the smirk through her smile , she very well knew that it would sting him if she didn't reply.
"Maria will be showing you your new room for the next three days. You must be tired after the long journey."
Kria nods. He wanted to groan in frustration. If she was stubborn , he wasn't less.
"I'll be joining you for dinner." , he spoke and then whispered the next few words for only her to hear. "We can always finish what we left at the party there."
He smirked inwardly , feeling her stiffen.

It had been the meeting of the dynasties where he had first laid his eyes on her. She was the only princess who had accompanied her father for it.
As soon as she entered the hall , each and every prince had his eye on the ravishing beauty.
Rey sure had seen a lot of pretty princesses , but never in life had he felt attracted to anyone as much as he felt attracted to her right now. She looked nothing like the other princesses.
Kria had everything he wanted. She was pretty , bold , and well he couldn't place a word to it , but there was something about her that pulled him towards her like a magnet.
No prince had dared to approach her , everybody knew about how bluntly she had rejected few of the princes for marriage, but even those rejected souls couldn't stop looking at her.
Rey had walked up to her and greeted her by kissing the back of her hand. She had smiled , he could guess blushed a bit maybe?
They had been each other's constant companion throughout the event.
An hour before the event was about to end , Rey had taken her out. She had been looking around when Rey had called out her name , she had turned. He had pulled her close and was going to kiss her. The thought that she would push him away was removed when she closed her eyes as well.
They were going to kiss when unfortunately they had been interrupted.

Rey was determined to complete what he had left that day. He knew it wouldn't be easy to woo her , she wouldn't melt so soon , and well this nature of hers was another thing that made him fall for her.

Controlling her feelings was way too difficult for Kria. Who could actually How could anyone ignore the charms of Rey?
The first time she had seen Rey at the event , she had felt this pull towards him.
She was aware of everybody's eyes on her , but she had her eyes on that one person who had charmed her.
She had stood alone , knowing most of the princes were too afraid to approach her. Being the princess of the third largest kingdom , made princes fall on their knees , one because she was pretty , two because they wanted to join both hers and their kingdom together. But she wasn't someone to give in so easily.
Rey had approached her and it had somehow made her heart flutter. In the lawn , when they were so close to kissing , someone had interrupted them.
If Kria didn't know her manners she would have groaned in frustration. As they had entered back , she had seen her father as well as Rey's father giving them a smile.
She had guessed they were talking about their marriage.

After that party Kria had gotten some information about Rey. He was the soon to be king of the second largest kingdom.
Going by the stories , Rey loved his people , and their wishes were his command only if they were reasonable obviously!
Everybody in his kingdom wanted him to marry someone who helps in "expanding" it.
Her father and his father were on talks about their marriage and in no way she wanted her kingdom to come under Rey's! Never!
When she had been invited to stay at their palace for three days , she had made her mind to reject the invitation. But her parents had different thoughts.
So now here she was stuck at this palace. Knowing that Rey would do anything to make her his and that sooner or later she would fall for it , which she wished she didn't.

Kria sat on the chair for dinner. Rey hadn't arrived yet. Her hair was braided to one side and she was wearing a red dress.
Rey entered with a smile on his face. He looked at Kria and stopped in his tracks.
She looked breath-taking even though she had put not much effort into it. That was her beauty. She didn't need make up or anything to make men fall for her.
Sensing his presence , she looked up. He walked to her and sat beside her.
"You look gorgeous princess."
Kria looked down to hide her blush. She couldn't really let him know that she felt something for him.
It was only a matter of 3 days. She can control her feelings.
Rey thankfully kept a normal conversation throughout the dinner. Kria did enjoy his company a lot.
"Kria.."
She looked at him. His face was too close to her.
"Let's go out , shall we?"
She nods. He held his her hand and took her out to his private garden. It had been decorated with candles everywhere.
She looked around in awe. He held her hand and took her to a swing that was decorated with roses.
"Sit.." , he spoke , his voice a bit husky.
Kria , as if hypnotized by her surrounding and Rey , sat down. Rey smiled to himself and pushed the swing a bit.
Kria couldn't express her feelings. She suddenly got a feeling that Rey wasn't behind her , before she could turn , orchid petals fell on her.
She smiled.
Rey came front of her and forwards his hand , she took it and he pulled her close.
Their faces were inches apart.
"Kria...I love you." , Rey said softly and then leaned in.
Kria was in daze and closed her eyes.
'The kingdom..' , a voice in her head spoke. Her eyes opened and she pushed Rey away from herself.
Rey stared at her in shock. Kria raised her hand to slap him , but he caught her hand.
His eyes were filled with fury , how dare she raise her hand on him!
"I am NOT some stupid princess , who would come running to you because of all this or for that matter give herself to you! How much do you know me to even love me Rey?"
"I don't think , I need to justify my love towards you." , he spoke pushing her hand aside.
"Towards me or towards my kingdom?"
Even though Kria knew she was being judgmental , but the protectiveness towards her kingdom made her speak all of what she was speaking.
Rey looked at her.
"What do you mean?"
"You very well know what I mean! Prince Rey , the heir to the second largest kingdom! Princess Kria , heir to the third largest kingdom. What if they get married? Their kingdoms would form an alliance and well they would actually Prince Rey would become the King of the largest kingdom. Everybody knows this! So Rey , do you love me or my kingdom?"
Rey looked at her in shock , in fact shock would be an understatement.
"You think...*pauses and moves forward towards Kria who moves back*..I am pretending to love you so that we get married and our kingdoms form an alliance?" , his voice raising with each word he spoke.
"I don't think Rey! I believe." , she spoke trying her best not to stammer seeing Rey's deadly expression. He held her shoulders in anger.
"Why would I put so much efforts to do all this , if I just wanted to marry you for a kingdom!" , he yelled.
Kria gulped.
"Be-because..." , she had no reply. Sensing her fright , he pulled back.
"You didn't put any efforts! This is all done by your servants. Easy for you right?" , she spoke again , feeling her confidence come back.
Rey's palm turned into a fist. Anger was rushing down his veins hearing her accusitions. He had decorated all of this just for her!
"No answer to it?"
Kria's heart was yelling her to stop being stupid.
"I put all my efforts into making you feel special , and what I get in return is you hurling accusitions upon me? You know a lot about the kingdoms , and their alliances right? How do you not know that the supposedly largest kingdom is being split? The king's daughter is getting half of the kingdom! Which makes us the largest kingdom , and even if anybody else makes an alliance with your kingdom , it would still remain the second largest?"
Kria looked at him , her eyes wide.
"I don't think , there is some reason behind falling in love. But yeah I definitely made a mistake by falling in love with a self-centered princess like you!"
"Rey..I am so.."
She held his arm , but he pushed her hand away.
"Don't say a word! I have been humiliated enough for tonight."
He went away in anger.

He reached the hall and saw the servant.
"Clear my private garden immediately! And throw away that swing somewhere." , he yelled.
The servant nods and immediately went sensing his master's anger.

Kria couldn't believe herself. She replayed , whatever happened , in her mind again and again. She wanted to curse out loud.
'Even if they split , your kingdom could be a major boost right? If there is an alliance no other kingdom could take the position!'
"Shut up!" , Kria yelled to nobody in particular.
For once , Kria wanted to curse herself for being too 'protective' about her kingdom.
She had lived all her life listening to stories about the ongoing wars from the maids who were her caretakers. She had known how brutal any king could be too just reach the top.
She had kept her guard , and now because of this guard , she had just humiliated the guy whom she liked.
How could she be so foolish? How could she just collect half information? Why didn't she let him explain himself first.
Few servants came in , and started clearing everything. They bowed seeing her.
"Please continue.." , she spoke politely, controlling her tears of anger.
She was staring at nothing , sitting under a tree when a servant came inside.
"Prince Rey has ordered to crush the swing." , he spoke to the others.
Kria looked there and saw them removing the swing. She held her mouth.
He must have felt so hurt. She looked away , and got up.
She went inside the hall and was walking towards the guest room when she stopped a servant.
"Where is Prince Rey's room?" , she asked.
The servant showed her the room. Kria knocked the door.
"Come in!" , she heard his voice.
Kria opened the door , and saw him sitting on his sofa. He looked up , his eyes cold.
"What do you want?"
"Rey , I am sorry."
"Forgiven , now please leave."
"Your voice doesn't sound like you have forgiven me."
"Do not test my patience Kria. I have had enough of your nonsense for today."
Kria slowly walked to him.
"Rey , I just want to ask you one thing."
Rey looked at her nodding.
"If you have to choose between your love towards me and your kingdom's wishes , which one would you choose?"
He looked at her , not answering the question.
"My kingdom.." , he spoke. "And then convince you."
She was about to smile.
"But not anymore! You can leave tomorrow."
"Rey.."
"I said leave Kria."
"I won't till the time you don't listen to me."
Saying this she sat on the sofa beside him. He got up and went to his washroom. He stayed there for a while hoping she had left and finally got out , to see her still sitting there.
But she was rubbing her arms.
She saw him and got up.
"Rey please.."
She came to him and held his hand. Rey got frustrated and took hold of her hand taking her out.
"Rey , your hurting me!" , she yelled.
Rey left her hand immediately. She touched her wrists which now had marks on it.
"Sorry." , he spoke.
"It's not okay!" , she yelled. "Nobody has ever dared to hurt me."
"I said I am sorry , I didn't mean to hurt you. It was unintentional. It happened because of my anger."
"Exactly Rey! Even I spoke those words in anger."
"Kria..leave before I hurt you intentionally."
He said pulling her close in an attempt to scare her. She looked into his eyes.
"Then hurt me , because I am not leaving!"
Saying this she placed her lips on his. He was shocked but responded to it. His hands that were holding her wrists slid to her waist as he pulled her close.
The kiss , held his fury , her apology , their love!
Kria pulled back , because of the lack of oxygen. He looked at her.
"Rey. I have heard about the bad side of many alliances since childhood. I just don't feel like handing my kingdom to any other kingdom. Whoever has approached me till now , have always wanted me for my looks and for my kingdom , not for who I am."
"But I love you for who you are , the time I spent with you at the event , it was the best time in my life. I love everything about you Kria. I don't think love needs time , or a reason."
"It doesn't. I was being unreasonable . I am sorry Rey. Please forgive me."
He smiled , you rarely found the strong headed princess apologizing to you. How could he not forgive her?
"I forgive you."
"Seriously?"
"Yes!"
She smiled and hugged him.

The next day , Kria had avoided Rey again much to his annoyance. She had been speaking to the queen , that is , his mother.
After a tiring day at the court , Rey opened his room's door. The whole room was lit with candles , a path had been made with rose petals. He followed them and walked to his balcony.
He saw the swing there , the path led there. He went to it when Kria walked from behind and puts her hand on his eyes.
"Surprise." , she whispered.
He smiled , and at once all his annoyance towards kria and tiredness disappeared. He turned to look at her.
She smiled and pecked his lip , then whispered in his ear.
"I love you Rey."
Rey smiled and puts his one hand around kria and pulled her to him.
"I love you too Princess."

It was Kria's last day in his kingdom and he had decided to propose her. The last time he had decided to make it special , he had ended up getting humiliated.
So he walked to her room and opened it. She was sitting on her bed.
"Kria?"
Kria looked at him and smiled. He kneeled in front of her holding her hand.
"The last time , I had done something , you had almost slapped me. So this time , I decided not to wait and do something different. Because I have a whole life to do something different. But only this moment to ask you. And I can't really waste a single moment. Kria , I really love you a lot , I fell in love with you the first time I saw you , and the first time you spoke. You know the feeling of pain that had passed through me when you rejected me was unbearable. Kria , I really want to spend the rest of my life not with a girl like you , but just you. Will you marry me Kria?"
Kria remained silent.
"Kria , please trust me. I won't let anything bad happen to your kingdom ever. I can't lose you Kria."
Rey had never been so vulnerable. Thinking she was going to reject him made him get scared , a feeling he was alienated to.
"I trust you.." , she spoke softly. "And yes I will marry you!"
Rey grinned. He slid the ring on Kria's finger.
Their foreheads were touching each other. Both of them had known that these 3 days of Kria's stay would change their life. Kria's insecurity towards her kingdom's well being had disappeared and Rey had finally got her without compromising his kingdom's happiness.
Rey had finally entered her heart and made her his. And well , he had no intentions of leaving at all.
"Rey.." , Kria spoke smiling.
"Yes?"
"I still want a grand proposal." , she said.
Rey laughed and nods pulling her close.
"Of course you will get one my princess."
Saying this he captured her lips once again.
