Part 3:

"Sharon! Sing me a Christmas carol!" Swayam ordered from the kitchen.

"No! Sing one yourself!" I said, knitting my scarf.

I could hear Swayam chuckle as he took the Christmas cookies-which he made me help with-out from the oven. There was a heavily sweet-sugary scent in the room. "Aah. That is the smell of Christmas." Swayam said coming into the room with the tray of cookies and hot chocolate.

"Psh. Whatever." I rolled my eyes and smirked. He's such a dork sometimes. Swayam took a sip of his hot chocolate and went over to the white grand piano in the living room. He sat down and started to play. Silent Night.

I stopped my knitting and held it up. The scarf was almost done. I looked at Swayam, thinking maybe, I'd give it to him. I giggled to myself, suddenly feeling giddy. Was it this Christmassy atmosphere? I haven't been this excited during Christmas for a while now.

I ate some cookies and drank my drink, listening to Swayam play some more. Whenever I caught his gaze, Swayam would play just a little faster, and his smiled seemed so peaceful. I yawned and put my knitting to the side. Laying on the couch, I closed my eyes and smiled to myself. How long has it been since I felt this…warm inside?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Christmas Eve…
I awoke from the couch, with a blanket covered over me. Did Swayam put this on me? That's sweet. I smiled and decided to go back to sleep.
"Sharon!!! Wake up!" Swayam's voice yelled along with an annoyingly loud ringing sound. "Wake up Wake up!" Swayam rang one of those golden Christmas bells in his hand, while he wore a Santa hat on his head, "It's Christmas Eve!"
"So?" I mumbled.
"So we must celebrate!"
"No…"I covered my ears.
Swayam pulled me up and stuck another Santa hat on me, then pulled me outside to his huge backyard. "What are we doing?" I grumbled and crossed my arms feeling a chill.
Swayam took his jacket off and handed it to me. "I'm going to string these lights outside." he kicked a box with Christmas lights in it, "And you are going to help me, my little elf."
"And what is the point of this?" I asked holding the lights out for him, "Another Christmassy activity?"
"In a way." Swayam said setting up a ladder at the tree in his backyard, "But there is another purpose to this."
"What is it?" I asked.
"You'll see." he sang. When we were done, Swayam placed his hands on his hips and looked around at all the strung lights. "Just wait until tonight when it's all lit up."
"I want to see that." I said, and I actually meant it.
"So, do you believe in Christmas miracles now?" Swayam asked.
I shook my head and walked back inside, "Just because we did all of these Christmas activities, it doesn't prove that Christmas miracles exists."
"So, you still don't believe in that?" Swayam asked, amused, "You don't believe in Santa Clause. The spirit of Christmas."
"That's right." I said, "Why do you believe in it?"
"Me?" Swayam shrugged, "Well, I guess believing in things like that, makes spending Christmas by myself a little less lonely."
"Were you always alone on Christmas?" I asked, thinking of how lately, I was always starting to be alone. My parents were just never around anymore.
Swayam nodded, "Yeah. Ever since I was little. I mean, I had maids and stuff, but it was still kind of lonely."
"Opening presents by yourself." I said thinking of my own experience.
"Watching other families being together." Swayam said like he understood.
We stared at each other and started to laugh. Just laughing everything off. Laughing because finally, there was someone who understood. "You know, you're not as bad as I first thought you were." I admitted.
"Yeah well, I grow on people." Swayam joked, "So, you like me now?"
"Nope." I smiled while Swayam smirked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"You so cheated!" I pointed at Swayam as we played our board game.

"No I didn't!" Swayam denied, "That's how you play the game!"

"Your red piece was way back there!" I argued but still laughed when the doorbell rang.

Swayam got up to get it. And I used that opportunity to sneak to my room and check on my present. During the day, I finished the scarf and wrapped it up just for Swayam. Wow. Me giving a present to someone on Christmas? Why have I suddenly changed from before? I ran back to our game where Swayam came back. "Who was it?"

"Just the mail." he held up many envelopes, "All of my money filled Christmas presents have arrived."

"This is all people give you?" I asked.

"Yeah. You can help me count all my money later." Swayam said, "Oh! But this came for you." he held out a postcard.

Aah. It must be from my parents. I took it and read it, "Dear Sharon, how are you? We're so sorry we missed Christmas with you again. Maybe next time you can go with us on the next trip. Hope your Christmas will be fun this year. We'll pick you up when we get back the day after. Love- mom and dad."

I rolled my eyes. At least they cared enough to send a card. But then something caught my attention. We'll pick you up when we get back the day after. The day after. I'll be leaving when Christmas ends. Leaving Swayam …Maybe I didn't want that. I thought of everything we did together. How we celebrated. It was fun. I had fun. With Swayam with me.

I felt his hands cover my eyes. "Swayam?"

"It's dark enough. Time for your surprise." he said pulling me up.

"Where?" I asked has he led me somewhere.

"Wait…" he stopped me, "Ok, ready?"

"Um, ok." I said.

"Ta-da!" Swayam took his hands away so I could see the back yard.

The lights we strung were all lit up in gold, purple, blue, green, and red colors. They stung around everywhere and around the tree, making everything twinkle. It was so bright and in the night sky. So beautiful. "Wow." I whispered.

Swayam stepped in front of me and smiled, "I know it's only Christmas eve, but I couldn't wait."

"This is my present?" I asked.

"Well, actually everything was." Swayam said, "All of the Christmas activities we did, wasn't just for me. I wanted you to have a Christmas that you'll remember."

I smiled. He was right. I'm tired of spending this holiday alone. Tired of all of those crappy Christmases. And it was all because of Swayam. Because I was with someone that maybe I really do like after all. "I'll be right back." I ran to my room and got out my present.

I raced back outside and held it out to him, "Merry Christmas Swayam!"

Swayam stared at the present, clearly off guard, "Is this for me?"

I nodded, "Aren't you tired of just getting envelopes for Christmas?"

Swayam took the Present and held it delicately, "Can I open it now?"

I nodded again. He slowly pulled the ribbon off, and tearing the wrapping paper with care. He opened the box and took out the scarf I made him. It was long and red, and Swayam looked at it as if he'd never seen anything like it before.

"Is this what you were knitting this whole time?" he asked.

"Yeah, well, I wanted to give you something just for you." I slightly blushed wondering if it wasn't good enough for him, "I-I mean I didn't know what you'd really like…and I know it's kind of silly but-"

Swayam suddenly pulled me to him in an embrace. "This is the nicest best present anyone has ever given me." his arms wrapped around my waist, "Thank you." I closed my eyes and enjoyed the way he felt. How right this feels.

I smiled as he pulled back, "It is a Christmas miracle."

"But it's not Christmas yet." I reminded.

"Aah, you're right." Swayam wrapped the scarf around him and me, "The Christmas magic can still be with us for a while longer."

"I still say there's no such thing." I reminded.

"Oh really?" Swayam pulled the scarf so we'd be closer together, "Well you know when I told you that I liked you? I meant it you know."

"So you did." I said feeling a fluttering in my stomach.

"Yep. And maybe my little helper would like to stay with me until New Years." Swayam said, "I've never spent New Years with someone either." I smiled. Neither have I, "I'd like that."

"Because you like me too?" Swayam pressed.

"Maybe." I teased.

"Oh, c'mon. Say it." Swayam urged giving me a kiss on the lips making my entire body warm.

"I'll tell you tomorrow." I hugged him.

"I can't wait." Swayam smiled, "Merry Christmas."

The End

One of the cutest Swaron story ...
Swayam excitement for christams is adorable... he is so happy to spend time with someone on christmas 😳 I liked his idea of giving whole christmas celebration as a gift to Sharon , as she was also all alone these years on christmas like him ...
I knew knitting had something to do with the story , and finally it did come in picture...Such a nice gift , and swayam's hapiness in getting that 😳
Finally she partially admitted that she likes Him,...
I would still like to read it till the New year 😆
