Kriya smiled as she looked around the pool area decorated with pink string lights and silver balloons. The place looked beautiful... even more than it had looked the last time they'd been here.

The last time... she couldn't help but blush as she recalled the events of that night. She desperately hoped that the others had forgotten what had happened.

'Kriya, I think it's getting late. Don't you think we should call Neha now?'

'Haan Vishaka. But where's Vicky?'

Vishaka pointed across the pool to where Vicky was standing, talking to a guy in a suit, probably the manager or something. After sometime he walked over to his friends.

'Vicky, it's almost 7. I think we should call Neha now. Saare preparations ho gaye hain and if we don't call her soon...'

'You're right. Vishaka, call her now.'

This was the difficult part- getting Neha to come to the resort. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if her Dadi wasn't staying at her home right now. There was no way Neha's Dadi was going to let her get out of the house once it got dark. This was something Vicky had forgotten when he was planning the whole proposal. And this was why he needed his friends to help him.

At first they'd all said it was impossible. They suggested him to propose to her the next day in the morning or afternoon. But he wouldn't hear of it. They couldn't understand why he was being so stubborn until he explained-

'Today's our 3^rd anniversary.'

'But you aren't married yet!' Who else could have said that? Rinni, of course.

'I meant it's been 3 years since we started dating. This day, 3 years back...'

'RDX Sir's party at the resort right? I remember... seems like it was just yesterday!' said Vishaka.

The party had been in honor of them winning the footloose competition.

It had been obvious to everyone who knew Vicky and Neha that they were very much in love with each other. They were perfect together. Even then, they'd both been too shy. Finally, it was the sight of some guy shamelessly flirting with Neha in RDX sir's party that made him confess his feelings to her. The next day when they told their friends about them being a couple, like it was a big secret, the only response they got from all of them was 'Finally! Thank God!' Again, all except Nilesh.

At first he said 'Yeah ok, whatever.' But after some time he got an evil smile on his face and said 'What's going to happen when mom and dad get to know about their precious little daughter dating? Muahahahahaha.' His stupid evil laugh.

He wouldn't really tell their parents, of course. But Neha did not know that and a little blackmailing wouldn't hurt anyone.

So anyways, after that they thought of a plan and almost an hour later they drove over to the resort. Vicky had already booked it and had it decorated according to his wishes. The others had to help him with some final preparations and now they were ready to call Neha.

'You know she's already called me twice asking about you? She said there's something very important she has to discuss with you... she wouldn't tell me what it was though. I had to lie, told her I was at home, no idea where you are.' Vishaka said, taking out her mobile phone and dialing Neha's number.

'Yeah, she tried calling me but then I switched off my cell. You know I can't lie to her. She would've...' he broke off when Vishaka raised her hand as the call got connected.

'Vishaka? Vicky ka kuch pata chala?'

'Ummm yeah, listen Kriya is going to pick you up in 30 minutes. Be ready ok?'

'What? But kyun? Kahan jaana hai? And Vishaka, tum jaanti ho na Dadi aayi hui hai? Neha ka raat mein baahar jaana, not possible it is!'

'But Neha...'

'Nahin Vishaka, waise bhi ghar pe bohut bada problem ho gaya hai. Neha not coming...'

Vishaka smacked her palm against her forehead and the others looked at her questioningly. They hadn't thought what they would do if Neha wasn't willing to get out of the house!

'Tum bas itna bataao ke where Vicky is.' Neha said.

Suddenly an idea hit Vishaka and giving an apologetic look to Vicky she said 'Wahi toh...Vicky is hurt! He met with a small accident.'

The others had bewildered looks on their face; this wasn't part of the plan.

'Kya? Hey Bhagwaan! Kaisa hai woh? Hospital mein hai kya? Kuch hua toh nahin na...'

'Neha Neha! Calm down...He's ok...but haan, hospital mein hai...and he's asking for you...so Kriya tumhe lene aaye?'

'Accha theek hai, but Dadi?'

'Don't worry. Kriya is going to tell your parents and Dadi that my bua died and I'm distraught and I need you'll to console me now.'

'Vishaka! Aisa nahin bolte!'

'Arre meri ma, I don't really have a bua. My dad did have some distant relative who I used to call bua and she died some months back so it isn't a complete lie.'

'Phir bhi...'

'Tumhe Vicky se milna hai ya nahin?'

'Accha theek hai.'

She disconnected the call.

'What was that all about? Why did you say that? You know how worried my Neha will be now?'

'If I hadn't said that, your Neha wouldn't have agreed to even come out of her house!'

'But Vishaka! Tujhe pata hai na mujhe jhoot bolna bilkul nahin aata! Lieing to her parents about your bua is bad enough, but how will I lie to Neha? She'll see right through me!'

'Kriya just put on a sad face and practice your lines until you reach her house. Now go!' Sharon said, lightly shoving her towards the exit.

'Wait! Let me just keep this stuff in the room.' Kriya headed towards the villa with a bag which contained a salwar suit and some accessories to go with which Vicky had bought for Neha. The salwar suit was just lovely. They could hardly believe that Vicky had such good selection. Sharon said it was 'sangat ka asar'.

'Noo Kriya, give that to me.I'll keep it. You leave now. Waise bhi, I don't want you to get locked in the room...you know, like last time.' Sharon said with a smirk. The others burst out laughing.

Kriya turned deep red. Damn! They remember.

All her friends wished her luck and Kriya was off to Neha's house.

Kriya needn't have worried. She acted brilliantly. Okay, maybe she overdid it a little but it was Neha's family afterall... thoda overdramatic toh hona padega na? Neha's parents were not a problem at all. In fact, her mother got a little teary-eyed...she liked all of Neha's friends and 'Vishaka always had such a sweet smile.' she said. Kriya felt horrible lying, but it was needed right?

Neha pleaded to her Dadi and Kriya told her about Vishaka crying buckets of tears.

Finally, finally Dadi agreed to let her go and Kriya assured her that her driver kaka was trust-worthy and would safely drop them to Vishaka's house.

Now, they were off to the resort and Neha asked Kriya again and again about how Vicky was and how the accident happened and again Kriya felt bad when she saw how worried Neha was. She considered telling her the truth, that Vicky was all right, but she was worried Neha would then either demand to be taken back home or start asking where they were headed to if not the hospital.

'Oh well, it's all for her own happiness' Kriya thought and as they got closer to the resort it got harder to look somber. She could barely contain her excitement!

They were almost there now. Neha began wondering which hospital they were going to exactly. When driver kaka was about to drive the car through the gates of the resort Neha turned to Kriya looking extremely confused.

'Kriya! Where are we? Yeh kaka kahan le aaye? Yeh wahi jagah hai na...RDX Sir ki party?'

'Woh Neha... Vicky yahin par hai.'

'Kya? Vishaka ne kaha tha hospital... yahan par kyun hai? Uska toh accident hua tha na.'

The car stopped and Kriya got out quickly and started walking towards the resort wondering what to tell Neha and giving Sharon a miss call to alert them.

'Arre Kriya! Kahan jaa rahi ho? Rukho Kriya!'

'Neha, actually...accident yahi pe hua tha. And doctor said not to move him. So he's being treated here.'

God! That sounded so lame!

'But Vicky yahan kya kar raha tha?' Neha was looking suspicious now.

'Woh...mujhe kya pata? Tum Vicky se hi poochlo...' and then she began running towards the villa and Neha followed her, trying to keep up and wondering if her friend had gone mad.

Kriya pushed open the door to the villa and entered. It was dark inside. Neha entered a few seconds later and Kriya switched on the lights.

'SURPRISE!' Nilesh, Amar, Rinni, Bharat, Vishaka and Sharon shouted leaping up from behind the sofas and grinning broadly.
