well if you are mentioning radhakumud's book then i am sure there was no reference as dhananand wasdurdhara's father..radhakumud only wrote two facts...in jain text durdhara's name is found who was cgm's firsty wife..and he mentioned that dhananad's daughter married cgm but he didn't told that her name was durdhara...

and if the question comes to get acceptance by marrying royal blood then that doesn't mean that royal blood should come from nanda's family only..and in facebook girishji gave some logic about durdhara not being dhana's daughter...

if we follow dates then we can find in 320 b.c cgm defeated nanda and became king..the stories which referred about dhana's daughter married cgm they said that marriage happened after cgm defeated nanda...but if we follow date then we can find bindusara was born on 320 b.c..only few months later...so isn't it strange..if dhana's daughter was durdhara???

but still i can give benefit of doubt to dhana is dhara's father theory...due to lack of historical evidence...but you people also have to give benifit of doubt to those theories where its said that durdhara was north-western india's princess...or diodora-a macidonian girl...and i found a book of mr.ayar who told durdhara is daughter of koshala king and was married to cgm few months before cgm defeated nanda

yes i read that book to jayathi but it doesnt matter if they dont mention durdhara name in the book. there is not evidence of durdhara being macedonian only the greeks believe that who have no proof. the name isnt mentioned but durdhara was CGM first wife no doubt after he became king so only logical explanation is she was indeed wife of CGM. you have given 1 source 1 member has given 3 reliable books which say she was D daughter. so i agree she was dhanadand daughter logically and even if we research further.

CGM didnt marry princess of north western region although it says on net but no source confirmed thats just rumor. Lucy is right and i agree with it. if only i could remember that members name who confirmed Durdhara as D daughter and i think after that no one questioned this fact after that. But still there are members here who cant digest this fact😆.

am sure sagars must have researched some sort of source before making her D daughter

k i got a way whoever posts enough references on the fact that Durdhara was not Dhananands daughter we will accept it. You have to get it from 5 sources where you can find it. then we all will conclude and end this matter and start another fact which i have in mind but i dont wat to start that yet since we got to get this sorted first

i'd a history book which i brought 4 my UPSC preprn & its written that dhurdhara was the princess of the koshambi & diodara wa sher greek name but shes not greek. bcoz its said that thinking her as greek was based on the Magesthenes's Indica which is not available in its origional form & is lost but its references r taken by oder greek authors!! so theres chance of editing as we don't've any confirmed historical facts abt Indian history as our ancestors didn't write history as such until the "Rajataringini" by Kalhan!!
and its also true that CGM did marry D's daughter but her name was not dhurdhara.and its also said that he didn't marry D's daughter 4 royal purposes bcoz at that time ppl didn't like D bcoz of his cruilty & being a "daasi-putra"!!
but i'll again find it in Oxford history of India by V.A.Smith & sum oder books which i'd brought 4 my UPSC Exams!!

and fully agree with Aru and Swetha!

Ok... and now by swetha, aru, and ur info, my confusion is gone. Durdhara was the princess of Koshambi. But wht was Dhana's daughter's name!!! Good, I introduced this kind of topic!!! People might get to know the true story!!😆

yeah but still need more ref if you guys have read it that she is princess of kosambhi can you copy or paste that info here for readers. it would be really kind but all of you have only given 1 ref so you havent won debate yet. you have to give 4 reliable sources which say she was princess of ksambhi and not daughter of dhannu plus also give name of dhannu daughter.
I disagree coz CGM married dhanadand daughter who is his first wife and we all know name of his first wife durdhara

i menat that b4 "Rajtarangini" Indians never wrote history like Kalhan wrote or like modern or western historians wrote but history is always written as story in India from ancient times!! and i read in wikipedia(though can't sure) that it did describe sum dynasties of NWn India alongwid Kashmir.
and i'd read in history book that Ashoka's son Jaluka was his successor in Kashmir & Kalhan'd mentioned him!!
