the next fact topic is😉
1)Princess Kaurwaki is not fictional character i know what they portrayed was total fiction acc to you. But I tell you in some parts of India Kaurwaki is idolised because she lead a war against Magadh when Ashoka attacked kalinga. she got women and men to fight against Magadh.
and abt Ashoka and kauruwaki. shes not a fictional ckt!!and i agree that she prepared men & women both 2 fight against Ashoka & the drama i read in my text book during school(NCERT books) refered her as a princess of Kalinga!!
2) Kaurwaki did marry Ashoka but no love story like shown in movie. Kaurwaki was daugther of fishermen but unlike movie Ashoka was so mesmerised by her beauty that he forcefully abducted her and got married to her. Ashoka went on 2 year exile and not much is known so its possible that he met kaurwaki during that period anything can happen 2 years is long time. Unlike movie he cant have got married to her. She converted to Buddhism and became Ashoka's 1st wife. She was immortalised in the Queen Edict which was one of the minory rock edicts erected by Ashoka. The edict identifies her as the second queen of Ashoka and mother to Tivala. Legend also tells of a daughter born to Ashoka who died not long after birth named
Jo-sanne, born after Tivala (the origin of her name is unknown but said by some to be given by a Kalingan priest who had envisioned her birth and name). She is still venerated in parts of the Kalinga district as an immortal princess- protector of her father's throne.
[1] I found this on wikipedia but its sourced and many internet sites claim that Ashoka met kaurwaki during his 2 year exile although that contradicts my theory.
Kauruwaki did marry Ashoka but luvstory i don't know abt it!!but she was not 1st wife of him. Ashoka during his viceroyality of Ujjaini fell in fell wid the daughter of a merchant of Vidisha. she is referred 2 as "Devi" or "Vedisa Mahadevi" whom he married.
Ashoka's oder well known queens were "Karuwaki" & "ASaudhimitra".the 2nd queen "Kauruwaki" is mentioned in the "Queen's edict" inscribed on aspillar at Allahabad.the text of the inscription is as follows-
"Whatever gift has been made here by my 2nd queen,be it a mango grove,or a garden or a alms house, or anything else,it should be specifically registered in the name of my 2nd queen "Charuvaka" who is the mother of "Tiwara".
and this part i'd copied down from the text book of history gradun studenst & 4 UPSC exams preprns!!
so son's name was Tiwara & not Tiwala!!
Ashoka before attacking kalinga also said he had old relationship with that s tate i read it somewhere need to get reference but surely i will post it
I have heard this from some indians and they say then been there.
so you guys bring out your sources and prove she is not real person. Acc to me she was and some texts also say that. How true well all up to you go on then start to prove me wrong
