You have a point there Vrish, but Ambhik's murdering of his own father,in a brutal manner is not justified. Also Aambhik did not realize that his alliance making would harm the interests of Bharat...I agree that there was no concept of Akhand Bharat at that time...but allying with a unknown ruler...and that too for settling personal scores with Parvateshwar...and allowing Alexander to plunder India is not justified.😊

Actually, I was unaware that Ambhik murdered his father in history - don't recall reading about that. If that happened, of course, there is no condoning it.
But on the rest of the stuff, Ambhik did not have a moral responsibility to protect his neighbors just b'cos it was within Aryavarta - that was the job of their rulers. And there was no such thing as Bharat then whose interests Ambhik was harming. Personal scores for some rulers was conflated w/ political scores, and while Ambhik was less than ideal in that regard, he was hardly unique in that respect.
Aryavarta was very different from Persia: in case of the latter, you had a single empire that composed all of modern Iran, Iraq and good portions of Syria, Anatolia and Transoxiana (the region b/w the Caspian and Aral seas, and going right up to Tashkent). But the former - there was no single kingdom called Bharat or Aryavarta. It was an entire collection of kingdoms, which had different political confederations pitted against each other. Think of medeaval Europe: urging that Chanakya's dream of an Akhand Bharat be fulfilled would be like asking medeaval Europeans to have a single entity replace the various kingdoms in Europe - the Austrians, Spaniards, English, French, Prussians, Danes, Swedes, Byzantines, Russians - all w/ a single entity or empire. The people, their setups and everything were different enough and justified being in different kingdoms.
So for Ambhik, Alexander was like any other kshatriya ruler - someone he could forge a friendship w/ so that the independence of his kingdom was intact (since rulers, even Macedonians, didn't conquer friends, but just used them as forwarding bases to re-inforce against other enemies). Since Paurava was his enemy, there was no point going to him asking him for support against an unknown outsider. At that time, given the choice of Alien vs Predator, Ambhik chose the Alien, whose chances of being an ally were greater than the Predator, and turned out he chose wisely. At any rate, after Paurava's famous riposte to Alex, the latter restored his kingdom and hostilities ceased.
In fact, for Chandragupta to achieve what he did, Magadha had to become powerful, and then Chandragupta fought Selukus and defeated him. Even then, did Gandhara become a part of Chandragupta's empire - did Chanakya return to Taxila? After all his successes, Chandragupta did have an expanded kingdom, but it wasn't all encompassing. In fact, even Ashoka's conquests took him as far as Kalinga (Orissa), b4 he gave up war.
