Takshashila or Takshila, was the capital of the Gandhara Kingdom, situated between the Indus and Jelum rivers.It was a prosperous kingdom, with Takshila University as its pride.
The King Puru of the neighbouring Kaikya kingdom, was extremely jealous of the fame of Takshila.He had his eye on the magnificence and splendor of Gandhara, and its prime jewel, Takshila.King Puru was an ambitious king, who wished to have control over a vast part of the sub-continent.He had already annexed several small kingdoms, by a combination of force, blackmail and conspiracy.
He had a very cunning group of ministers and commanders, who knew all the tricks and methodologies, of expanding the empire.The group had evolved into a very efficient network of spies, who could infiltrate any enemy kingdom.
The manipulator of this group, was the Pradhan Mantri of Raja Puru, Acharya Inderdutt.
Inderdutt knew of the desire of King Puru to capture Gandhara.But capturing Gandhara was not a child's play.A meticulous plan was needed to conquer Gandhara.
Acharya Inderdutt soon learnt through his spies, that the Senapati of Gandhara Sena,Singnaad was living a lonely life.His beloved wife, had passed a few years ago, making him alone and lonely.Crafty Inderdutt saw a chance here.
An extremely bewitching girl, who used to work for Inderdutt ; and was an expert spy, was selected to lure and entice Singnaad under her control.The spy, successfully enticed Senapati, and brought him under her thumb.Singnaad madly fell in love with her.He could do anything for her.
A horde of female spies,was soon let upon on the commanders of Gandhara.The army of female spies, trapped all the commanders in their love and debauchery.
Gandhara was now completely enmeshed in the spy web of Kaikya.
