Ok so I finally caught up yesterday's episode on Hotstar. Yeah, kinda late, I know.
Must say, Nandu ka tashan is brilliant! Something I had been vying and waiting for all these excruciating days. And I am delighted the CVs have actually given her wings, which is something I'd like to thank them for, especially against Moora. I can't express how glad I am at the fact that Nandini is not being the usual docile and insta-forgiving bahu 👏 😎
SBP, I love you!!! What an excellent actress. I have admired her since her Makdee days for being such a gifted, natural performer, and she has only kept getting better.
Now, let's come to Rajat Tokas. Rajat, for your current performance, I'd only like to say... awww!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I mean, is it just me...because I feel bad for him already!!! He's sooo cute as the squirming and apologetic-trying-to-make-up-to-Nandu wala Chandu!!!! (Justin Beiber's Sorry playing in the background) 😳
Damn main to bas ek second ke liye hi naraz reh sakti hoon aise bande se 😆 I know I was one of those viewers who used to advocate Chandu's suffering-in-guilt for a considerable number of episodes...because honestly, the cynical, uncivil brute that he had become, was bloody annoying!
But fundamentally...this is the real Chandu we know -- this pikachu-like cute ☺️,affectionate, caring, somber-yet-fun man, who is also a very insightful, noble, fair and self-made emperor, apart from being a highly skilled warrior.
See, we all know he'll eventually be forgiven (and ultimately be rewarded with a SR), because not being holier-than-thou mahaan and not being an OTT idealist are some of the best qualities our Nandu naturally posseses, unlike you-know-who.
So let's gear up to soak in some awesome tashan games, monologues and manofying... and moreover, some intense crackling chemistry 😎
Rajat is absolutely nailing this avatar, as is SBP ⭐️
She is deeply wounded within, inevitably so. But she is not being a tear-shedding pushover, no sir. She has chosen to express herself crisp and clear, yet never reaching that loud & loathsome bracket (read: an emotional bully). This in itself is a massive master stroke, for an Indian television FL.
He is not being an outright romeo either. However, he has melted and molded into this implicit, repentant lover who has now got his ladylove's back, no matter what anymore. He continues to keep up his kingly swag, yet he's palpably sorry and hurting inside.
That scene where Nandini points out to Chandragupt about the huge flaw on his part as an emperor to have punished her for over a year without enough investigation...and the part where he hoarsely admits it, has been played so splendidly by both of them.
She questions him, yes, but maintains a certain dignity for him; not so much for being her husband, but more for being Magadh's emperor and the father of her dear foster son.
His voice betrays perceptible pain, and yet he magnificently keeps his tone and expression restrained...man, I was floored all over again!
Another brilliant scene was how Nandini deals with Moora. Good for her, the monster-in-law! Nandu fittingly gives it back to her, never losing her sophisticated sense of courteousness. #SwagAnusar 😎
This is exactly the kind of Nandini I had wanted to see all these months when Moora was being so grossly nasty with her.
Special mention to Chandra's lovely cut away expressions while the saas-bahu sequence went on. Hilarious 🤣 Rajat was superb once again!
In conclusion, I'd like to say...thank you CV's for giving us some good chunks of sequences and dialogues this week. Yay
PS: Dear Apama and Helena, holocaust begins in 5...4...3...2...1...
