Amina my dear, I am very tired and am going to bed, but I could not let this pass without clarifying some points. You are not thinking things thru at all, I am afraid.1) The bagh nakh is made of metal. It need not be poisonous. It is basically used against the soft parts of the body to tear the flesh and penetrate the tissues. As in an attack on the abdomen from the front, which can pull out the intestines. That was what Shivaji Maharaj did to Afzal Khan.WOW Akka - You know Auydha Shastra as well ?!! 😲 When i saw that i was laughing initially - Roopa prepares well and she strikes in the first go unlike CK-CN. And Sunanda took it from a box lying on the table as if it is a showcase. 😆When one stabs a person in the back of the shoulder, as Roopa does with Nand here, the impact will be minimal, as the curved nails will be blocked by the flat bone of the shoulder. They will not hit any vital organ. There will be some bleeding and that would be all.Nand Surviving is believable . He seems so strong and bagh nakh was a little more effective than Roopa's nails on him. But the abdomen piercing was solid, i thought.2) Roopa stabs Nand through his abdomen using a knife that seems to be over 2 feet long. It goes right thru him, at the level of his waistband, and is protruding to a length of 4 inches. Even this need not be fatal if the blade does not, thru sheer luck, touch any vital organ in the abdominal cavity.3) This last is what must have happened, and Nand is physically very tough. So, he would probably have tightened his kamarbandh to staunch the bleeding and got going.4) He naturally wants to save Nandini by taking her with him on his horse. But she does not want to go with him and so she effectively squirms and falls off the horse deliberately. She too seems plenty tough; 3 stab wounds and she does not lose consciousness till he has finished his vicious peroration!😆 Again, if no vital point has been touched in her case as well, there will be only flesh wounds that will heal.Nand's stabs were shown as powerful - Highly unlikely anyone can survive all three but then our heros and heroines always do. Wars are terrible - How many people must have lost lives like this in ancient times. And today's wars are even worse. I reemember Iraqi soldiers crawling in desert in 1990 to surrender to US Army in Kuwait liberation war as US bombs sucked the oxygen levels in that area for some time and soldiers wanted to breathe. Kargil war hero remarked as soon as war was won saying Siachen cannot be defended endlessly we need to find diplomatic solutions. In general, sword wounds are cleaner and heal more easily if they are not fatal. A gunshot wound is far worse as the bullet rips the insides of the body apart and causes a lot of damage to both bones and flesh.OK - I used to hear a lot of Kathi kuthu cases in Dravidian politics when I was growing up and almost all of them survived to contest next elections most likely in the other party which they fought earlier. This explains it.Shyamala Aunty
