So far, Chandra was shown doubting Nandini instantly after each incident, accusing her first, then cracking the case with Chanakya's help or advise, and then correcting his errors. As Anne rightly put it, he was taking baby steps.

Last week, during the walling of Nandini, keeping her in hidden cell, using her as Pretatma to scare Roopa, finding out truth of Roopa being The Twin, finding about Roopa's alliance with Sunanda and the reason for revenge, informing Chanakya on time while he was on a negotiation visit to Nand's cave, plan to use Roopa in place of Nandini ---- Chandra emerged as a Samrat, and shone on his own, in absence of Chanakya AND without the help of Chanakya.

Generally, he is seen standing like a student in front of Chanakya, with head down and with folded hands. Today, he was seen touching Chanakya on his shoulder, comforting him as a Samrat should, that he will take steps to save CK daughter at any cost.

And then, he faces Nandini with all seriousness, when she was asking what was it that he was hiding from her, simply calms her down by saying Trust Me, but don't execute your future plans without informing me. A caring husband who withholds information from his wife in order to keep her safe; yet a true Samrat who withholds political information from concerned party.

Chandra , a charwaha turned student turned warrior, is now slowly getting polished as Samrat Chandragupta.

Precisely, my dear Sangeetha! Beautifully and aptly put.šŸ‘

I felt exactly the same after watching last night's episode, especially about @blue, which reinforces what I have written in the post about the relationship between Chandra and Nandini. It was such a serious, sensible and appealing scene - the conversation between them. It struck me even more than the subtly shifting equation between Chandra and Chanakya. It is but rarely that one gets to see a husband handling his wife so astutely and yet affectionately in a tricky matter. He says exactly what he should say, no more, no less, and he says it in just the right way, It was wonderful.

If my hands had not been hurting so much, I would have done a mini post about it last night, but I could not. I am so glad that you have made the point, or rather points.

Yes, our Chandra, he is growing up, and into Chandragupta Maurya.

There is something you have not factored in re @blue, Sangeetha. Nandini is jealous of Roopa, and sick of having to stay in the shadows while the impostor queens it as Nandini. It is this visceral reaction, probably reinforced after cuddling up in Chandra's arms that night, that drives her to do it. The idea of consulting Chandra does not even occur to her.

As for the cuddling scene, as Sarika has noted, it was very sweet, without being in the least passionate. It is not easy to show such things convincingly. The director managed it very well there.

And yes, I am very pleased that you liked this one so much.

A beautiful post, Periyamma, as always !!!

How I wish the CVs showed us the awkward moments between the couple the next morning, after the Suhaag raat. That would have been pure delight to the viewers.

But no, Nandini is shown drafting a letter to her Guruji, without any information to Chandra. Total lack of team coordination there between Chandra and Nandini, when they are plotting together against Roopa. True, he is also withholding information of her twin from her, but she doesn't know it yet.

And, once again, poor Chandra is left wondering whether the woman in front of him at Court is Roopa or Nandini. Nandini, time to get your ID / Aadhar Card printed fast dear.

Wonderful post aunty... it has filled with the beauty of Chandra-Nandini's togetherness enhanced by the beauty of your writings. 😊
exactly as you have mentioned in the closing para, entire happiness fades away a bit due to the insensitivity of mauryan family about poor Chaya.

Absolutely Akka - When I saw the post today morning , wanted to comment on it. You beat me to it. Infact his body language, facial expressions are now so wonderful and he travels between the love struck husband to the dutiful Emperor so naturally and it is so balanced.

I wrote in Khushi thread the following

But I liked the later scene much. This is the strength of their relationship - After a cozy night ( Not the extreme) he retains the freedom and right to question her unilateral call or decision to send a patra to her Guru. And she LISTENS to him !!!! . Later he tells her not to indulge in such surprises without informing him. And she is unable to force him to share what he has in mind. In spite of which their closeness and rapport does not take any beating. This is what is truly special about Chandni.

The scene was written extremely well - He does not get enraged , very reasonable and questions her genuinely. Got to give to the Director for building the relationship on a path of trust and mutual understanding - It cannot come all of a sudden in one episode. Beauty of it all of us are convinced of it unlike you know it was TOLD To us elsewhere. šŸ˜‰

If my hands had not been hurting so much, I would have done a mini post about it last night, but I could not. I am so glad that you have made the point, or rather points.

Oh !! Please take care Akka - Please ignore my request as well

Yes, our Chandra, he is growing up, and into Chandragupta Maurya.

How wonderful !!!!! Scintillating Performance by Rajat and SBP is very very good.

Beautifully written Sangeetha - Got to give to Script writers and DIrector for Chandni Equation build up.

Generally, he is seen standing like a student in front of Chanakya, with head down and with folded hands. Today, he was seen touching Chanakya on his shoulder, comforting him as a Samrat should, that he will take steps to save CK daughter at any cost.

Yes - That speaks volumes of CK Training. Shows vulnerability of a father as well. And Chandra was reassuring to his Guru when he needed it. But his one dialogue like I want to achieve two goals with one arrow was confusing. He was only planning to take Roopa there at this point in his mind. How is N to know of the Nand's bad side ? Per Chandra, Is he predicting that witnesses will come give an account to Nandini ? She is such a type who will never believe one iota of ill information on PIta Maharaj from her own mother. Somwhere this thought of Chandra will come back and haunt him later. He will blame himself for trying to achieve this goal when N (if at all) gets stabbed by Nand.

Polishing indeed like a Diamond. Superb Portrayal by Chandra - And CK actor is also good. Their scenes never fail us. God knows how many dresses he has been given. šŸ˜† His clothes must have cost the least of all crew.

Nandini may be a princess but she keeps indulging in adhoc exercises like writing a letter to her Guru.

There were too many security lapses. How did she get writing material and seal in basement ? And can outstation courier be given just like that to a daasi ? You need horses to deliver messages. Guru Adinath came in a flash as if he was waiting near compound wall.

šŸ˜†

On the contrary, Chandra bides his time and waits for the situation emergence to catch Roopa red-handed and foist a case against her supporters. This is where the male brain works much smarter than a female brain when it comes to messy and tricky Rajaneeti.

Akka,
Fantastic post and wonderfully described scenes. The lead pair's acting was really good so we could enjoy the scenes. I have a hunch that Nandini as you said will go and try to persuade her father. Unfortunalely for her she will see his real face.

Loved reading you.
