I also found the concluding portions cute and facinating Akka .Initial running around was okayish.😃 - Jejune - Where is google ? 😆 Nice and apt word. Very cliched settings for growing this affection will get a bit stale. But the look on RT's face after Daadi left was

But I agree that Rajat was marvellous in that last shot. And Shweta was really good too.

Just wait and watch. Chandra will end up rescuing Chanakya's daughter, and then having to marry her for some reason or the other. And Nandini will be faced with the necessity of giving her consent to it. There has to be some reason for this permission for any new marriage business!

You are breaking many people's hearts in the forum. They do not want anyone to come behind or after Nandini - 😆 I am having another prediction - May be Nand will kill her and enmity between Nand and Chandra will get rekindled and rejuvenated. It has diluted in the recent past due to his closeness to N. But Nand is a smart cookie he will negotiate something big for CK's daughter.

I for one, will be disappointed that C-CK relationship will become FIL-SIL . I am thinking current equation is interesting and it has a certain dignity and discipline to it.

And like Karna said to Kunti, whether Arjun or me dies in war you will have 5 sons always. When Durdhara's release happens, Chandra will still have 3 wives. Count 4 is for a short duration only. 😉

But even I wish he does not marry his Guru's daughter. He would have ended up marrying Arch Enemy's daughter, financier's daughter and Guru's daughter. That is some combination. 😆

Hope your prediction goes incorrect this time around. 😃

I also noted that the wily Chanakya has not outlined the Mukhya Maharani's responsibilities. He won't want her to be mixed up in his governance machinery!😉

Aha !! Talk of the Strategy thinking . Pushing all problems to Chandra and keeping his aura and authority intact. 😆

Also noted that Chandra is already beginning to weaken where the idea of using Nandini as a pawn is concerned. This is exactly what Chanakya meant when he warned Chandra against falling in love with Nand's daughter. And he was right.

I call him Eclairs Choclate now - Hope he does not become a marsh mellow ( your pet name given earlier to J) soon. That's why I want a big MU to come in soon between CN due to Nand. He looked a lot weaker than initial episodes when Nand's word used to sound like poison to him.

The most of the MM rules and regulations were ludicrous to me except the very first point of it and the right to use MM mudra. Methinks all those must be dadi's ideas or traditions with which she was known since her time or as per her experience. The MM contest was her idea to make Chandra and Nandini bound together and she might had these ideas in her mind from the very first day when she declares this to Moora. Chanakya must have redefined them further with the hidden intention of leading her presence in the palace somehow gives an opportunity for trapping Nand.

After all, that is not their idea at all but CV's, to bring some intense scenario and to stretch out the story in the future as you have mentioned Aunty.

Yes Aunty. It was distressful to see him in hospital. He fractured his elbow and had to be operated. And a week after getting discharged he developed acute UTI and had to be re-admitted. He is much better now and more importantly out of the hospital.

My dear Shreya,

I have missed you on my threads and it feels good to have you back, but I am very sorry to hear about your father's illness and hospitalisation. It must have been a scary, nerve-wracking time for all of you. I know exactly how it feels, for I went thru the same thing 5 years ago with my mother when she was suddenly diagnosed with acute congestive heart failure. We pulled her thru, and she is stable now, but I was on edge for a month and more at that time. I hope that your father's illness was not too serious and that he is improving now, which last I could guess from your reappearance here!

I enjoyed your lucid and perceptive comments as always. I agree with all of them, which leaves me with very little to add. Such as there is has been put in blue.

Watching the 1995 BBC series on Pride and Prejudice now. Also caught up with 2005 movie version a bit.

I am inclined towards 1995 BBC series. Initially I thought Liz actor face and appearance was not that great. But she is growing on me now.

It is good to hear from you, my dear Ankit, and I am very pleased to see that you have your priorities straight. You should of course concentrate on your studies and the various regular and competitive exams that you will be taking over the next couple of months, and I am glad to know that you have cut out all these distractions.

My warmest good wishes for you to do very well at all of them, even better than you yourself expect.

Once all of them are over, come back and join the fun. I am sure both this goofy show and the rest of us will still be here come April and May!

Jennifer ought to have been slimmer and prettier and lacked that 'thuru thuru' -ness. The movie duo suited the descriptions v ery well, but the Mcfayden couldn't bring out Darcy's conviction to change himself quite convincingly. And Kiera was too effervescent. Of the lot, Colin Firth was the best, of course imo.😳

The 1995 series was so true to the book and the movie was not up to the mark wherever it deviated.

Long back I read P&P novel and hence the characterization on Print is a bit hazy to me now Sands. I do not know about this thiru thiru ness. But in 1995 series , the era's sensibilities are kept in mind. Colin indeed is good as Darcy. I am avoiding Binge viewing these days. On Episode 4 now . There are quite a lot of youtube comments on how 1995 is the best of adaptations. Infact some of them loathe 2005 version. 2005 has been done to get more GenX and GenY onto the novel. But it lacks the subtlety for sure. Darcy is pathetic in the 2005 movie.

What you need to avoid, Sri, is the 1940 version! It had none other than Laurence Olivier playing Darcy, and Greer Garson as Elizabeth, but the natakiya rupantar was so awful that at one point he gives her archery lessons, forsooth!😲

What was worse, the MGM wardrobe department chose to economise by using the huge hooped dresses made for the 1938 Gone with the Wind instead of the high waisted Regency style dresses that were in vogue in the early 1800s. It was ludicrously anachronistic. But I have the film on DVD for comparison purposes.

The 2005 version - I could not last thru it at all. I have the 1995 version in the 10th anniversary set issued in 2005, and it is still so appealing in a fourth watch a couple of months back. Colin Firth is the gold standard for Darcy, though I cannot for the life of me understand who chose Jennifer Ehle for Elizabeth. But Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins were marvellous. You should re-read the novel.

The 1995 version was made in the same spirit as Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings, with total respect for the book. That is why both of them ended up as the definitive versions.
