This was as warm and perceptive as I had hoped it would be, my dear Ranjana. Thanks a ton.

I loved tonight's episode, not only because of the startlingly pally goings on between our couple, but also because something I had written to Debastuti a little earlier, to wit:

In between, as they still share the same room,Chandra will also see the real Nandini, who will behave very differently. If she tells him some of the same stuff she offloads on Sunanda. he might well end up thinking that she has a split personality and needs understanding and help. Then just as he is starting out on this path, Roopa will come back! Poor Chandra will soon be climbing the nearest wall.😉

has turned out to be at least halfway correct. It might even be 2/3rds by the end of the week!

I am not doing any more mini posts if the episodes continue to be this entertaining: I will save up my comments for the weekly post next Sunday.

Aunty, I have to say at the outset that several portions of the post were very moving. I had to struggle not to paste entire sections here. I've highlighted the portions and lines that tugged exceptionally hard at the heartstrings.

Your amazing introduction took me to the beach, and then made me scurry for cover😆. What a lovely way to showcase the sentiments of a viewer.

The Nandini: What love can do' section was so touching that my heart 🥺 The description of the character's battered mental state, lack of ego, undying hope and deep heartache was stirring.

...his good wishes in the corridor scene with impeccable dignity, and if she weeps her heart out in misery, it is not till he has left. Perhaps her mantra about prem making one strong enough to bear any suffering is also true, for she now has the ability to wrap her misery in emotional resilience when she is not alone.

Vivah vicched in 4th century BC? The dialogue writer's buddhi must have opted for a vicched from her/him😆

...that he cares for her and is proud that she is his wife, the look in Nandini's eyes is inimitable - half shock, half resentful hope. No matter how bleak the circumstances, her hope never quite dies.

...like a permanent, poisonous, lacerating burr under Chandra's skin.

As I had noted in my last post, there is something in Nandini's make up which makes her snap at a point when she can take no more of humiliation, and just wants out, even if this is by falsely incriminating herself in order to put and end to this torture. It is stupid, and she shortchanges herself to no purpose, but that is just the way she is. Very perceptive lines⭐️ Agatha Christie - another one of my favourites. I remember the character of Audrey in Towards Zero. That was a great story. My favourite among her books is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.'

..Chandra has already flagellated himself to bleeding point, and every fibre of his being is raw and lacerated by the pain of betrayal...

There is a total, almost unblinking absorption when he gazes at her face, as if drinking in every minute change of expression, every shade of emotion. Her initial hesitation...to... when he has turned away.

Who fights at his side against his enemies, who cradles his head in her lap as she struggles to save his ebbing life, who touches his wound with gentle possessiveness as she begins to explain the beneficent properties of peedha.

The infinitely gentle care with which he does it, and the exchange of nods between them when the mud is gone - questioning on hers and vigorously reassuring on his - were so delightful ki hamara to hriday prasanna ho gaya! Aapke descriptions se hamara hriday bhi prassana ho jaata hain 😃

...the magic that had pervaded his whole being for this interlude of enchantment seeps away in an instant.

Your take on the piece de resistance in the episode is a piece de resistance in itself. Kitni khoobsurti se likha hain aapne..⭐️👏👏

It is not the laughter of mirth, anything but. It is the laughter that comes of distilled bitterness that can find no other outlet.

...she is naturally afraid that he will deride and mock such a confession as well, and this something she cannot bear, to have her most tender, secret sentiments thus defiled.

In an outburst of feminine anger at the perennial discrimination against women, always held to higher standards of morality than men, she gives him yet another opening to accuse her of wanting to be polyandrous.

..is watching her with deep set eyes that are pools of lambent, suppressed rage and disbelief. Looking at those narrowed eyes in a hard, rock-like face, one senses that something is going to explode very soon.

Were my love to swear that she was made of truth,

I would believe her, though I knew she lied.

Wow...wow... These lines are so 💔❤️💔❤️ 💔❤️

Chandra is too angry, more with himself than even with her, to be given pause. So he goes on, and the words that tumble out, almost involuntarily, against his own will, are as if they have been torn out of his innermost being, and soaked in the bitter anguish that pervades his whole soul.

Nor even, he adds - when she latches on these points and seeks the real reason for his hatred - most unwisely, effectively sabotaging his key rationale, because she loves Malayketu.

...he has been pushed into the corner with no way out, and Nandini, barely an arm's length away, is hanging on his every word. There is a battle on within Chandra, a battle between his heart and his mind. In the end, the mind wins, but not before his heart makes three unsuccessful attempts to prevail.

His whole face , his eyes, his mouth, all work in a struggle to control his emotions, and not to expose the weakest chink in his makeup to this faithless Jezebel, as he sees her. In the end, he refuses to answer her desperate query, and effectively walks away, from himself and from her.

Beautiful, beautiful post, aunty 👏👏👏

Abhi I have to run off for some work and I think I'll be tied up till night :/ You've put a mini post too, hain na? I will read and comment on it tomorrow for sure! :D 🤗

Ohhh... *regains consciousness* ⭐️
I didn't see today's episode, but I'll catch up tomorrow on Hotstar!
Aunty, what are the odds of Roopa turning out to be the vishkanya who kills Malayketu? Some people were predicting something to this effect in the forum.

So dear friends, did something nice happen today? I gather that it actually did. But I really fail to understand why the script just flip-flops. Chandra should have been seething even more after seeing Nandini lepping Malayketu. Nandini should not have been so very cosy and chummy with Chandra after an argument sufficient to rock and shake the very foundations of any marriage. But then CVs are unreliable and hate something like continuity in their script. Is Chandra by any chance noticing the difference between Nandu and Roopa? Has he grown some brain cells?

Shailaja,

I loved tonight's episode. Our Odd Couple now have their first insider joke, about the vaanar!

But I would never have imagined them being so easy and pally with each other after the Friday night blow up. I think it is neither Chandra nor Nandini but the CVs who are high on madira ya bhaang!

Who cares, when they had so much fun together, and so did I! Also, something I had written to Debastuti a little earlier, to wit:

Chandra does notice the glaring differences between Nandini and Roopa, but he is still flummoxed by them and, for now, thinks it is a private joke of Nandini's.

And don't sound so grumpy, my dear. It does not suit you!😉

I am not doing any more mini posts if the episodes continue to be this entertaining: I will save up my comments for the weekly post next Sunday, and instead concentrate on your FF, which is advancing at an alarming rate!😉

I don't think you have seen my response to your comments on page 8 above.

I hope my FF is advancing alarmingly in a pleasant way! I just want to get done with the story before I get some mental block or lose interest, and leave it languishing in the mid air as a couple of my most recent FFs ended.

I am pleased that my little take on last night's episode made you see the present track somewhat differently.

Not just the very valid point you have made about Chandra cottoning on to the difference between Roopa and Nandini, there will also be the fun part of watching Roopa run rings around Chandra, flirting with him one moment and flaunting Malay in his face the next.

It's very understandable that Chandra will be very confused by Nandini's weird behavior and will end up thinking Nandini has split personality as the lookalike thing cannot strike someone very first; but what about the nails? They cannot grow in one single night... I expected Chandra to ponder over this fact more when he found her nails are long again, but he didn't pay heed. I had thought this thing is going to be the turning point of revealing Roopa but Chandra to tubelight nikla.🤪

But I enjoyed today's episode very much. Cannot the cvs show this type of episodes more without showing a cheap Chandra and crying Nandini with full of other nasty things?🤢 It will be fun to watch this Roopa track, but they have to provide us a little intelligent Chandra now. 😡😆😃
