MDSA, 🤗
How have you been, Aunty?...brilliant write up of not so brilliant epis...RT continues to excel, & Sweta continues to be pathetic...🤢...sorry, but I can't refrain myself from saying that's she has been a terrible faux pas by Balaji...

I almost dread her coming on screen with that same eyes popped out of their sockets look, trying to gulp a huge pebble, n then gritting her teeth......horrendous!!!...I think it might not be a bad idea at all to change the female lead at this stage if the show...I sincerely hope EK does that, else, I'm definitely NOT invested in this love story called Chandra Nandini!...though I continue to remain invested in RT's CGM n MDSA's posts 😉😆

There!!...I've vented n now I'm back to my cheery self 😆...loved your description of the war, Aunty...you're a wizard with words...you truly are!...totally loved your post!😃...n as usual...agree with almost everything...

I particularly loved your description of Helena n Durdhara...esp Durdhara- childlike but not childish ( coz there's already one childish character in the show 😉)

Fascinating Post Akka.

I am also catching up with discussions - will come back for more.

Somehow that Nandini Character and the girl's acting is finding more and more low depths. She is digging deep and in a free fall mode . The dialogues written were very lowly standard and the way it was uttered was beyond pathetic. in JA, initial days of marriage etc, even Jodha used to speak softly.

And the girl Swetha is no where close to even 20th Century forget about BC. She screams like a 2016 woman. Most of the others in the show are doing far far better than Sweta, infact have established the characters reasonably well.

Swetha will undergo innumerable sufferings in the next 3 months at the hands of Helena, CGM, CGM Sister and may be even mother. This was my prediction last week and not slowly it will come true.

The hatred will be built to such a level JA will look like a small play.

But the falling in love process and the eventual result will also be that much more drastic. 😆

The bottom-line of the serial will be Nandini is "the only person who caught, catches CGM's imagination, mind and Hriday " 😆 . Even Bindusara is a result of Nandini's curse or insult to him. 😆 This is EKTA's obsession of ONLY one woman emerging super victorious. And everyone else pales in comparison. Helena is now the revenge taker of worst kind. She is going to be a worst form of RUKKAYAH as against a grey RUKS in JA. It is sad she is repeating this yet again.

Recalling Akbar going in circle around Jodha Begum chambers eating Prasad and looking at her pooja etc. leaving the 5000+ inmates of his harem waiting !!!!

The show I heard is not doing well on TRP front. Unless Swetha girl picks up and brings in some subtlety and improvement, it is going to be super taxing on RT to pull off the show into good ratings.

Have read one version that CGM's original ancestry used to do barbery. His mother was also working in a palace as a maid. As there is no good history recorded, cannot say anything.

But there is nothing demeaning in being a barber. The very fact this Bharat Bhoomi allowed a person of this origin to become the Emperor is testimony to the land and its people.

2500 years later the same land chooses a former tea-seller to become the PM. And again to the credit of the land, its political maturity and democracy.

CGM by whatever count is a very fascinating story. CN is a less interesting one. 😆

Thank you so much, my dear Chahat, for such a warm and reassuring response to this post. I am truly flattered to be rated on par with Rajat onscreen!😉

Whenever you can spare the time, I would be very pleased to hear from you.

I do not think there will be any Justin, who is a fictional character in CAS. Unless of course the CVs want a motive for turning Helena bitter, ie that her son should be denied the throne.

But there is a catch there too. In CAS, Justin was the elder of the two sons. Still, Bindusara was made the heir apparent using the same argument that Chanakya uses here. But here, Durdhara's son, Bindusara, will clearly be the first born, so even if Helena has a son later, which I doubt, he would only be second in line, and she cannot complain that he was not made the heir apparent.

And I am disappointed to see you trotting along with the herd here, young Khushi, parroting the Nandini as the main cause line.

As I wrote to Saraswathi Akka, the whole scenario is not as unidimensional as the folk here make out. Durdhara loves Chandra, though she does not show it. And as for him, I think he himself does not understand what it is that he feels for her. It is surely not only the anger triggered by Nandini's crude outburst. But there is a deep seated aversion in him towards any act of physical intimacy with a woman, which has to do with his bal brahmachari bent of mind, which is still deeply ingrained in him.

This apart, for me, the only important thing was that Rajat's performance during the whole sequence, from the time he approaches Durdhara to the morning after, was quite simply outstanding. It was a very difficult set of scenes to tackle: the awkwardness, the reluctance amounting to distaste for having any such intimacy with his best friend - whether he is right or wrong here is not the point, the point is that he does so feel - the thinking back to Nandini's mad, hateful tirade, the shamefaced reaction the next morning.

Every single bit of it was near perfect. I cannot think of many actors, even those in films, who could have pulled that off.

Yes, my pet, but the funny thing is that it never quite fits the end game. In Jodha Akbar, I used it for the episode where, in the precap, Jodha is shown shooting a quintet of arrows at Benazir, who is then shown toppling into the lake. So I rushed off in great delight and titled my post Samhaar!

Lo and behold, the next day, it was all a fantasy, and Benazir was not pin-cushioned (sic) at all! It was the same here vis a vis Nand. Anyhow, one can only try one's best, and I love that pauranic term.

What a distraction you are, Khushi! I was ploughing my way thru my responses conscientiously, but you have sidetracked me with all this stuff of yours. Get thee behind me, you brat!😉

I take it you have finally managed to read my post. I hope, for your sake😉, that you have something more to say about it than these bits and pieces!

Shyamala Aunty

PS: Tu to bach gayi, Khushi, for I see that you have made some comments of sorts on the pre-page. 😆
