Yes the backdrop was similar and Kumbha and Senjit were the predecessors of the Nandas, tyrants and unpopular... despite all its flaws and disappointment, this show draws me again and again to Saradindu babu's magisterial collection... probably he has written so much regarding that time period, and its people 😊

Somdutta is any author's delight, it must have been a pleasure to etch a character as her. There is another soul sister of her, created by the same author, Ulka, from the story Vishkanya, she too bears some semblance to the former... but doubtlessly, Somdutta rules 😃

Ohh man you have read saradindu's story...😳❤️
Ulka and Somdutta is my ultimate fav heroines of historicals.. though both of the, are imaginary characters... ❤️... ...mahnn how much i desired to enact the personalities these two had... Weird thing is that I had become an ardent admirer of a Vishkanya and a woman spy but i really cant help... such personalities she posses...😳
In fact each and every female characters of His story is delight to read... tell about princess Ratta Yashodhara from Kaler Mandira... then Veera and Youvana from Tumi sandhyar meghmala nd then the female protagonist from Prag-Yotish (sorry i dont remember her name)... all of them are such a gem and delight to read about... I am ready to spend my all yearning to see such kind of female characters in TV... But it will be too much to expect from them...😆😆

True... after reading his novels i literally fell in love with ancient indian history which fell to my least fav subjects in school days... his language is in one word... Fascinating... just read some few lines and u will get hooked in mins..
And offcourse... Shibamishra and Ulka had a striking similarities with chanakya-CGM though both of these duo faced totally different fate...

U remember there are two lines describing the personalities of the women of ancient age in the first story of the series Amitava... Cannot recall the exact lines but those words were just ufff!! It feels so frustrating to watch Ekta's nayi soch wala version of those ancient women in the form of Nandini or Tuntun Bhabi! If only Nandini had 10% of the sensibility that Ratta Yasodhara had! 😔

I keep on falling in love with his Historicals- again and again and again... Couldn't he write 2-3 more novels? 😆

Really! What a courageous and dignified woman!! The stories are written in such a way that we can feel the aura of that time in each and every details of characters! We can hardly imagine those sitting in this timeline...
Isn't here any single directer who can present those stories as a series with the same aura? 😔
