I will look for it. And Ria, being a bookworm is a delightful thing, for I am one myself.

What a pity about that Meghadootam! My mother is a Sanskrit scholar, and she has many Sanskrit classics, including Vikramorvasheeyam, Ritusamhara, Swapnavasavadatta and many others. I did learn some Sanskrit from her, but unfortunately never enough to be able to read those.

Firstly, hope the cold is better... and your hands too!

I haven't read the analysis yet Periyamma... for the first time, I want to do it the right way around, since I heard that the episodes have shaped up nicely...

I want to catch up on the episodes first... before I read your take on it.

A few days time and I should be able to do that... and then I'll read this and (maybe the next one you would have posted by then)

Please take care of yourself... I do peep in now and again ... just to catch up on the fun stuff on the thread... 🤗

Saradindu babu and his historicals, always leave me... . He has written a short story on the encounter of Chandragupta and Alexander, quite a funny one... I can't recall its name 😕

That one where Alexander and Chandragupta was having a challenge over a competition of drinking? 😆 I too can't remember. Let me check.

@bold... aunty, i do agree on that part... when i saw shweta in the very first promo I must say that i was quite impressed with the way she was represented...a shrewd lady with revengeful mind who wanted to get revenge from his husband. I had to confess that her over all presentation reminds me of a imaginary woman character from my one of the most fav historical story, Mrita Pradip (the clay lamp)... the female protagonist of that story, named Somdutta has been always been one of my fav female characters... She was shrewd, manipulative beauty but a faithful duty bound daughter of her father... everything which I admire in a character... the traits of true strong lady... who held her head high till the very end... (Sorry, my excitement took over whenever I talk about that story😆)... the best thing was that writer didn't tried to whitewash somdutta... She was very well aware about her father's whereabouts when she entered in enemy king Chandragupta's territory as her father's spy.(the story was set in early time of gupta dynasty..)... thats what i truly admire about her character that she was not plain STUPID or blind in her father's love... she was helping her father as a dutiful daughter but she was well aware about right and wrong..

Ohh how much I presume that Nandini is going to be Somdutta version 2!!.. I knew very well that having high hopes from EK story was not at all good... even I didn't have.. but at least expected Nandini not to be ignorant and blind in her father's love...When it comes to actual story what i saw... naa, Nandini is unaware of her father's true face and that leads to her hate towards Chandra for killing her father... In plain word Nandini's character was totally white washed... but if Nandini was gived a bit of maturity and true to say a bit of grey shades and shrewdness like helena then her character would get a different dimension and more interesting to watch..

And well I do hope that her character scketch improves... yes its true that professional actors had capability to act beyond script and draw the limelight but we are both experienced that how can a bad characterization and shaky script makes even an excellent actor look marred...

Somdutta is any author's delight, it must have been a pleasure to etch a character as her. There is another soul sister of her, created by the same author, Ulka, from the story Vishkanya, she too bears some semblance to the former... but doubtlessly, Somdutta rules 😃

The background of the story viskanya has a similarity with the story of Chanakya-Chandragupta... Isn't it? And I love Ulka!😃
