You know, my dear Kausi, I am so very pleased that you noted that part and liked it specially. All the rest were so hung up on my blunt dismissal of their retort chemistry that they could not see beyond that!😉

I absolutely loved those segments, and naturally I wrote about them. The funny, and sad thing is that while attacking the CVs for being ahistoric and bashing Ekta all over the forum, no one can spare a moment for the gems like these. Thank you for being one of the very few exceptions.

Take care, Periamma! 🤗

😲 I did observe that entire para about the chemistry of Guru Shishya... enjoyed it too... praised how well you've described RT's sentiments (through his expressions) whenever with his Guru...

Which is why in my thread too, while I found other aspects of the serial illogical, this jodi I could only write good about... 👏

🤗 I'm sure many others have read it... and enjoyed it too

OK, OK, Lashykanna, mea culpa! Kaan pakadke if you would like that. And while I am about it, my apologies to Ankita as well, before she too turns up and spatters a complaint with reproachful emoticons😉

I should have written "most of the others", for that is the fact. But as for the latter part about all of you being hung up on the retort chemistry, I am not budging from that, all that astute sophistry you have deployed at the end of your comments notwithstanding. 😉 You remind me of nothing so much as Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland, "A word means what I say it means, no more and no less!" Thus Ankita's tashan😉!

The thing is, my poppet, that all of you - OK, I have learnt my lesson, 😉so MOST of you - go into ecstasies when the lead pair are either mooning over each other, or are fixated on each other in violent dislike, which you are sure will turn to love. But the truth is that in life violent dislike mostly stays just that.

Besides, I am not a romantic, and whereas deep, genuine emotion always moves me, and this no matter between whom it is, this conventional stuff does not, for the most part, touch me, or at times merely irritates me, as during most of the later romantic scenes between Jodha and Jalal. And between this lead pair right now, even less. Kya karein, I am too old to change, and I am going to stay "like this only". I am not even going to mention Akbar-Heera, for to do that in the Chandra Nandini context would be almost sacrilegious!

But not to fret. Feel free to gush and moon over anything and everything you like about this pair, call it chemistry or tashan or whatever else you like, and I shall not interfere and carve them up with satire. Well, at least most of the time, for there is no such thing as never!😉 Khush?

Not at all Periyamma... actually wanted to cheer you up... 😆that's all... 🤗

I know... I was debating whether I should write it there... but I didn't want to open a thread just for this.. and your post was dedicated to chemistry... so... sorry *with a sheepish smile* if you feel it was misplaced Periyamma...😳

Btw, I was just going to say... waiting to hear your thoughts on 11... then realised it's biweekly...

I'll just add a few lines worth here... about the latest one???

Strangely... despite the negative reviews on the forum.. I liked it overall... 😲

What I didn't like

1) Helena and the constant focus on lips and eyes and skin pores that'd been poorly masked by layers of foundation... and again lips and eyes and skin... and lips and eyes Hey Bhagwaan! And she looks much older to RT too... almost like his aunt!

2) OMG Why was Alexander talking to Porus in English and to Selucus in Greek.. Alexander's Hindi is like those English actors from our British-Freedom-movement Bollywood movies... understandable!
But Selucus' attempts sound like he's sporadically reading and joining any syllable from any word together... incoherent babble! He must just speak in English.. I'm sure the non-English population would eventually deduce what he's on about!

3) Editing/Screenplay - Why are they running from one scene of Porus' 'Bharat Mata ki jai', to next scene battlefield, to next scene cliff top (I actually thought Alexander was going to push Porus down😆) and then, that wooden vantage point that looked like it'd come out of a set of Angry Birds!
The simple tent was much better... and all those scenes could've been carried out in just tents...

What I liked

1) I liked Chandra... the saucepan-skirt comedy (with the repeated focus on the twirling pleats of his skirt) was silly, but intentional/believable unlike the unintended comedy that the VFX is causing... if CGM ever had worn that Western attire, I can imagine him feeling a bit... (for lack of better word, as the Scots here call it) 'uncomfortably airy'

Now yes, him going 'Chandra this Chandra that' to Alexander is unnecessary... how sophisticated he would seem if just kept quiet and took it all in with a slight smirk!😉 But I guess that's where he differs from Chanakya... his need to advertise his bravado constantly... is innate pride... stems from his bloodline... makes for 'royal' material! He is a king's son after all!

2) I actually liked SBP's sword fighting.. especially when compared to her first practise promo... she's been practising... that's for sure... (I just have to remind myself not to focus on the flab and the clothes😔)

3) I know the upcoming sequence at Parvatak is filmy.. but I think it'll make for an interesting meeting of all characters under one roof... and this time, with CGM as the soldier... let's see what all Tashans we get to view! (And sadly, with a generous amount of VFX helicopter stunts, trampoline jumps and animals that they surely intend to thump on us!)

I am very glad that you enjoyed this post - which, as I had noted, was an afterthought - so much, my dear Manasi, that it helped you get over the after effects of the fever! I hope that you are still being careful to that there is no relapse.

Yes, my dear, I have to be careful and pace myself. If not, I shall be heading for a collapse, which I would not like at all, for I would miss all of you more than you would miss me!

Affectionately,

Shyamala Aunty

Dear Aunty...😃

Thanx for the pm . I thought you'll skip this one...because nothing of that sorts happened , but am so glad it came & I enjoyed it so much that all the malaise that fever gave me in last two days has disappeared .

And , please take care of yourself...no matter how much I love these phenomenal reviews by you but at the same time I also don't want your fingers to feel all that pain which this assessment & all that extra work attached has started causing you .

I am with you on all of this, Lashykanna, and I too liked it with very few reservations. I will say why tomorrow. In any case , I have never given a hoot to what "the forum" whatever that might mean, says, and that has served me well thus far. Whenever I deviate from this rule, the result is not good, a waste of time and/or a rise in my BP.

What gets my goat are threads like Disha's latest - never touching on any good point, but going on and on and on like a bunch of rudaalis. And this very kid, when they were bashing Rajat on similar lines in the early stages of Jodha Akbar, rushed to recruit me to defend him against those hosts, Now she, and a bunch of fellow rudaalis, are doing exactly the same thing those folks did in June 2013. If one dislikes a show so much, one can always quit, instead of inflicting such prolonged laments on the unsuspecting folks like me. I went there to look at it only because she was the topic maker, and I was almost tempted to start taking the whole post apart. But then I realised that it would be a waste of my limited resources of energy, and desisted.

You have forgotten one thing about that Helen, she is as nasally challenged as the kid Nandini. 😉And I could not at all make out whom she was supposed to be coddling and hiding in her lap during a thunderstorm - Seleucus being mostly incomprehensible.

I shall be covering the Battle of the Hydaspes, the one between Alexander and Porus (that was his Greek name, so why does even Chanakya call him that and not Purushottam?) in great detail in a subsidiary post tomorrow, with some fascinating new historical material. But for now, why were there no elephants at all shown in Porus' army, when they were a mainstay of his and inflicted huge damages on the Macedonians? An undoubted economy measure!😆

Finally, child, why do you all say "filmy" in a pejorative sense? What is this if not an extended film?
