Adiana,

A glutton does not have to be 6'4" and weigh in at 240 lbs.

The story you have narrated is very interesting and solves the problem of where the army for the conquest of Magadha was going to come from. But that does not mean they had to cast Chetan all over again. Rajat looks very young here and 'Chetan looks twenty years old than him. It is ridiculous.

It is just Ekta's habit of dragging her regulars into every show of hers where she can squeeze them in. She could easily have found a more reasonably proportioned chap to play Malayketu. As things are, Rajat must be getting a crick in the neck from having to look up at him all the time!😉

Shyamala Chetan as Malayaketu is actually well cast - Malayaketu was supposed to be a glutton and always wanted to be treated with obeisance as shown here and he joins CGM to attack and win Magadh in the hope of becoming the Emperor but when after the victory during the celebrations a vishkanya sent for CGM is desired by him Chanakya makes sure she is sent to him and thus Chanakya gets rid of Malayaketu to clear CGM's path - this is one version - and the description of Malayaketu fits Chetan to a T 😛

My dear Nandini,

I am so glad that you came out of the closet, so to speak, and decided to comment on this thread. Now I hope you will keep up this good habit!😉

I am a Harry Potter aficionada too, and I loved the Cedric Diggory crack!

As for the rest of your comments, they are all apt and I agree with them. Re: Malayaketu's fate, if Ekta goes by the account given by Adiana (see my response to her above), it is going to be far more colourful than the options listed by you: death thru the kind attentions of a vishkanya!

Hello,

This is probably the 1st time I'm replying to your post. I enjoyed reading your post as much as I enjoyed the episode. Regarding the entry of Chandra I totally agree with you. Though I'm a fan of Rajat, the first thing that came to me with his entry being aired was that it was a little OTT. I mean more than a warrior's entry it appeared the descent of cedric diggory after a journey through portkey. And the way the soldiers or the ruffians, whoever they were, waited for him to perform all those gymnastics even when he was within their reach to enable him to establish his supremacy over them appeared more melodramatic than realistic. They should just have given a sword to Rajat and leave everything else to him. He would have performed wonders.
However, one can never fault Rajat's acting. His acting and expressions are always spot on, may it be that grim and narrow eyed assessment of the odds and coming up with a way to win over them or that slight tilt of his head when he sensed someone sneaking up on him or that lightning speed with which he reacted as he sensed danger. Chandra is the ideal student and Rajat portrayed it accurately. All his scenes are a treat to watch. (however unnecessary melodrama always makes me yawn).
However the way Chandra just stomped his foot on the ground beneath and the sword leapt up like a true ping pong ball was another melodramatic addition. They could have simply shown him touching the sword with his foot and pushing it up in the air so he could grab a hold of it.
Chetan Hansraj - Not only EK is obsessed with him but even in Rajat's PRC this guy featured as Rajat's sworn foe. Well, I guess we just have to swallow the bitter pill, namely Chetan, till he is ultimately packed off to hell or exile by Chandra. I was bemused too regarding the privileges enjoyed by Malayketu. If rules are same for everyone, as Chanakya keeps on harping, then this guy too should be treated as just a student and nothing more.
Chandra and Chanakya - I loved watching them together. Both young and adult versions of Chandra with chanakya is way more entertaining and I'll choose them anytime over Chandra and nandini. That hill top scene is amazing and in a way I think Chanakya was right when he warned Chandra against love. I mean, suppose Chandra had fallen in love with Nandni before packing her brute of a father off to hell, which the latter so deserved, he would have let Padmanand go scot free just to evade being the cause of Nandini's dejection. So its better to first secure your position and then fall in love.
Nandini's entry is likewise melodramatic however Shweta is pretty and her acting is also good.
I love the father daughter bond as it reminds me of my bond with my dad.

That's all, bye.

My dear Kesha,

When did you change your id? I remember your name perfectly well, but then your id was, if I remember correctly, Foodlover. What is it with this new one?😆

I do not think they could have spent more time with the kid Chandra, my dear. He was no star material like Siddhar Nigam in Ashoka or Faisal Khan in Maharana Pratap, and this show has been marketed on the strength of Rajat's star appeal. If the TRPs are to take off soon, he has to come in early. But they can still show as much bonding between Chandragupta and Chanakya as they want, and I hope they will ?Do see my latest on the Tuesday night episode, where I have discussed this issue in some detail.

Rajat is looking exceptionally good and performing very well as usual. Fingers crossed for this show to do really well and boost his standing in the industry. He deserves it.

Love what you have written.

More than Nandini the show was running at Usain Bolts's speed. I really wished that at least few more epi were given to develop Chanakya-Chandra bond.
Exactly my feelings when I saw Chetan Hansraj and that too in a role of shishya. Knowing Ekta I will not be shocked if Ashwini is roped in too.

Nandini saving the goat was really weird, I didn't get the reason behind the scene at all. And the decision taking from "heart" and the very sweet bonding between father-daughter is very cheesy I feel personally. The actors are good but its just not shown properly or maybe its just me.

Rajat is damn awesome and even though height is not in his favour he suits the royal/warrior looks the best.

The show reminds me of Prithviraj Chauhan and Sanyongita so much

Hope that Ekta shows at least 20-30% true history compared to Jodha Akbar.

I am sorry you had all those technical hassles, my dear Sara. They are exasperating!

I agree with almost everything you have written here. Have you seen my next post? I think you will like it.

I think I too must watch Bahubali. There are so many references to it here and I am all at sea not having seen it!

Affectionately,

Aunty sorry for latest reply, i typed couple of times my responce but unfortunately every time my safari stuck and reloaded the page and all my typing wasted. now i m posting every line to line to save my time energy n my post ...lol

Any one noticed urdu speaking n gora accent alexander n macedonians... Rofl...

Over dramatic action of rajat entry is like we can over look ... There are so many movies with so inrealistic hero bravery ... Hero ko dishum dishum koi bhi goli nahi lagti na hi uski apni koi goli waste hoti hae seedhi nishane par lagti hae...

Chetan is looking so old not a teen ager prince ... He was of rajat pita age in prc...was looking perfect Phir adham khan bhi chal gaya tha lekin abhinkuch jam nahi raha ...and i also notice his lush pash cloths and jewelery... In prc, in MP both princes wore simple uniforms in grukuls but here apne malayketu asa pauravtak wearing princely outfits and chichorpan ott...lol

Chanakya ji is over ...ek tau mere chandu ko zor ki chipka di... Are bhai shatru par war tau karna hae... Par control bhinkoi cheez hoti hae... Waqt rete apna war hold karna bhi zaroori hae ...
Shweta is looking so pretty and bubbly but as a teen ager unmarried princess jewelery and costumes are bit over ... But they all are looking happy shappy loving family ...odd... And gautami bhabhi with her full pregnent belly running here and there looking bit over and unnecesary ...

Avantika maharani ji ka husan wesa ka wesa ... No change in her, even lips stick ka shade bhi wohi hae...lol...
For a releif no...mera chandra ayega since two epis...

I watched bahubali this last weekend and watched full chankya show again ...

As per recap i think ...chandra will doupt on chikna launda with beautiful eyes and fuller lips ... And for a matter of time nandi will go lattu on this chatur rajkamar...

Now pace of show should slow down after leap and grown leads entry.., what u say.

Thank you aunty. 😃 I'll try to comment on your every thread. I loved reading your post. Harry Potter is my all time favourite. Vishkanya track is always interesting if utilized skillfully. If the end of this irritating creature is through a 'vishkanya' it'll be interesting to watch and I'll be looking forward to it.
