It was gone in the morning, my dear, but it was back in the afternoon. I do not know what triggers it.I have to think about it.

You are welcome, my dear.

The show is improving, the next episode was better and tonight's was lighthearted fun. Rajat is looking much better than he did as Jalal and the girl is not bad. Take a look at my next one, which is mostly about Chanakya, who is growing on me.

No, Alakh, this Chandra Jr. was not a patch on Siddharth, who is a real actor and was superb in Mahakumbh, far more than in Ashoka. This boy has beautiful eyes and he delivers his lines well, byt his face does not register any nuances or even feelings. They could not have kept him for very long, and the need to get the TRPs off to a good start would have made Rajat's early entry necessary.

How is your worse half?

Thanks for the post..

I was literally laughing at Rajats entry scene, it looked to fake to me.

Having Chetan as a classmate doesn't make sense at all. It's really painful to watch him trotting about trying to compete with Rajat..he's too old. He looks like that old bully in class who has repeatedly flunked way too many times😆

Nandini and her dad are just too cheesy.. It's annoying.

I did like that kid playing Chandra. He was sweet.. Sort of reminds me of young actor who played Asoka on colors, Siddharth.

Thank you, my dear Deepti. I have posted the next one this afternoon; see if you like it.

Rajat is looking his best and of course performing very well. As for the rest, we shall see how things go.

BUT my JA hangover has not left me and honestly RT speaking those lines in shudh hindi took some getting used to.

Great write up btw.

I am glad you enjoy these posts, my dear Anu, and also that we are of the same mind on many points. Yes, there is a lot of drooling around, but luckily my threads usually stay reasonably sane!😉

I liked the episode lessons, most of them, and the one in which Chanakya shows few difference between a stone thrown and a stone dropped.. Simple physics yet hard symbolism 😆

And I completely agree with you on the Raja-Nandini Arrow part.. What is Hriday se nishana anyway? 😆

But I must say, I am not fangirl,
But I smiled at the extravagant entries 😆

Ri my dear,

You simply have to use a larger font. How do you read this stuff? 😉

I remember your names because I think that is important. But as for the lines, I always watch an episode very carefully for the second time before I start my post. At that viewing, I write down the lines that I plan to use in the post.

It is not only that blank faced Anurag Sharma that I am afraid of seeing added to the cast, but Ashwini and Lavina as well. I devoutly hope there is no place for any of them here. The first two seem to be already in another Ekta show, Kavach, so maybe we are safe from them!😉

As for why Chandra, both Jr and the present one, is so obedient to Chanakya, do see my next post, where I have discussed it in detail. Also the other point as to why Chandra does not react to taunts. This last is one of the most interesting character features I have ever seen on Hindi TV.

The really solid thing in this script, Ri, is the strong rationale offered both for Chandra's aversion for love and Nandini's later hatred for Chandragupta. It was far weaker in Jodha Akbar.

I am not as taken with Nandini as you are. She seems silly and giggly to me, but I am sure she will improve once she gets something solid to tackle.

Shyamala Aunty

[QUOTE=.Avengers.]Res

Edited - oooh first page😛 a major feat in its own

How do you remember the dialogues line by line? Is this the same photographic memory which let's you remember our names as well?😆

Is it me or the episode felt rushed? So many things happened at once...Chandra left home, in one night learnt how to run on water (?), became grown up and fought with bad guys with some unnatural moves! Not complaining about last one, I enjoyed RT. Had the same giddy feeling when I used to watch PRC and Dharam Veer But the stunts were so unrealistic!! A few gif worthy moments here and there, especially his eyes when made that weapon and took on soldiers, but that's all. Would have taken a less heroic, simple sword fighting lesson in gurukul any day. Sigh.

It was such a shock seeing that Chetan Hansraj guy, I think that's his name? Really from which angle he looks shishya, old guy in mid of Kids🥱 I hope ekta is done with Balaji owned actors now, or else we will see that Anurag as well, he did every show of Ekta starting from yhm, kkb to kavach and PKHJD. Chanakya was good. But can they stop hammering down Prem ko kabhi mere pass ane nahi dunga...we get it! Its a hate to love story. Move on!

Nandini was a delight. Grown up Nandini Pitashree scene was good. Not too dramatic. That run and prior to her peeping and hearing her marriage didn't make sense, but will over look it cause slow motion and that devdas like run was I am much more invested in Nandini I guess. Mischievous and so innocent! Their chemistry gonna rock, its evident from the new sword fighting promo. But I have a few doubt-

how scary and effective Nand's rule is that none talks about how cruel he is in rajmahal? Is not servants are universal gossip mongers? How come Nandini has such blind love for her father and knows nothing about his personality outside? That much sheltered?

She must have grown up seeing her mother don't like her god like father much, didn't she ever stop to think why exactly? I hope amidst all these wedding talk it pops up.

After marriage sasurji automatically become Pitaji so it sounded weird when that balaji cameo bhabhi addressed to Nand as Sasurji. Those days that was fashion kya?😆

Chandra so readily agreed to join Chanakya in his grand vision- only cause he bought him? What's his angle? Why he wants it? And he never went back to see his foster motherthis guy really hates the idea of Love. To think it will increase more once he knows Avantika's love for Nand lead his real parents downfall🥺

Thanks for pm Aunty.

PS when that old prince taunted Chandra for being a _charvaha (shepherd) 's son (don't remember exact word) he gave such a blank look in reply while I thought he will glare. Such tough armour he has. RT is killing it, and ye to bas suruyat hai😉

My dear Anu (do I have that right?),

You are too kind, but I am glad you are enjoying my posts. They are an acquired taste and are not for everyone.

You, my dear, have a Ramayana and Mahabharata fixation😉! It reminded me of Paro in the 2002 Devdas.

Rajat is a remarkably versatile and gifted actor. I am sure he could master most accents and dialects if he had to. Talking of shudh Hindi, yesterday, Chandragupta was made to say khubsoorat to Malayaketu, which was a ridiculous anachronism, for khubsoorat is Urde and that dates to 1300 years after the Mauryan period!😆

I was surprised yesterday because the day before I had compared chandra-chanakya with drona-arjun.

Ahem. My wild suspect, the entry of Nandini is copied from one mahabharat promo, where draupadi had at least 10m saree like Nandini behind her😆 and running to gates. So I think this is it😆

It is really hard to get the hindi accent of Rajat, and where in JA he stumbled even while saying nritya😆 he is an amazing actor I say!👏

My dear Disha,

I am very pleased that you enjoyed this post so much.

Yes, I noticed the karpoora gauram for Rajat, but the chanting of these slokas is very poor. Someone should tell them so and get them to change the reciter.

All this apart, and I am with you in almost everything you have noted here, I can never forget how you, having known me in the DKD Mahadev forum, dragged me to the Jodha Akbar forum to defend Rajat against the charge of being too stiff. That, my first post there, on June 30 2013, came out to an ecstatic response from so many of you,and got me an instant fan club! I stayed there for about 10 months more, and did very many episode analyses, as you know.

As for the part that I have italicised below, I intend to watch some episodes of the 2012 Chandragupta Maurya online and see for myself if Rajat really sounds like Manish Wadhwa. He must have been a fabulous Chanakya, he is such a superb actor.

Always a delight to read your posts aunty! I found myself nodding in agreement to almost everything you said.

I too found the opening scene of Rajat very sloppy, but he tried his best to make it his own. It's just so annoying when the scene which has so much scope in showing off his swordsmanship ends up being a comical version of Rajnikanth-ish action. Sigh.

And the camera work don't even get me started on it. This frustrates me the most. Don't know what these people are smoking in there. Or maybe they get possessed by spirits when handling the camera.🥱

This reminds of ekta's saas bahu shows and the triple-zoom shots of the vamps.
Horrible is an understatement. And how he magically caught all the spears and got them interwoven beats me. 😆

I don't know aunty. If you had seen Prithviraj Chauhan, you would know why this bothers me so much. The variety we saw there in the actual choreography of the fight scenes were amazing. Even Imagine's CGM for that matter! No one can do historicals better than Sagar arts for sure.

Chetan Hansraj! See I know you think of comical Adham Khan when u see him. Its ridiculous. But whenever I see these two in one frame,Im reminded of a 13 year old boy playing Prince Prithviraj Chauhan standing up to this gigantic looking king Bhimdev woth his menacing presence and yet commanding attention. Their scenes were a treat to watch! Chetans beat performance definitely.
The gurukul scenes were much better for me. And as you said,Rajat delivers in subtletly. It comes just so naturally to him. Those nuances.

And why the silk clothes u ask? Well, ekta doesn't do subtle.and who cares if its a gurukul and the whole point of a gurukul is to teach that it doesn't matter if your royalty, you need to learn how to be grounded.

Sigh.

Aunty, did you notice Rajat's voice modulation? He does the art of speaking fast really well. And he did it in JA as well, but I think this is edgier. And I found an uncanny similarity to how Manish Wadhwa spoke as Chanakya. I loved it there, and I loved it here too.

Shweta was really pleasant as the princess. And Im hoping with all my heart,( Please the gods of all heavens) that Bhaashangiri doesn't take that away from her.

And yes,she did look pretty. but as you said, the scene overall reminded of Devdas and a bit of punjabi folk songs when she jumped and threw her dupatta away. It felt as though she was in a paddy field running with a dupatta on her head.

*shaking my head in disapproval*

Arpit is much better with the father daughter scenes I felt.

Overall a good episode, but the emphasis on dil vs dimaagis getting on my nerves now. I mean yeah yeah I got it when you mentioned it the first time, don't force it down my throat againa and again!

Also, though we agreed to avoid bringing in logic and historical accuracy, but still, who the hell is Nandini,if Dhananand is her brother? 🥱

PS : So Idk how far its true, but acc to what I saw, CGM can walk on water. Jesus Christ anyone?😎

Also aunty,i dont know if you noticed, but Rajat's opening shot had karpura gauram karunavataram shloka playing as background music 😆 reminded me of devon ke dev mahadev and you! 😆

Thank you very much, my dear Ankit. I am so glad that you enjoy my posts, including this one.

I think what Chanakya means is the kind of love that distracts you from your duty. Not the kind that strengthens you and gives you a purpose in life. Chandra's foster mother's so-called love for her husband is a case in point. Also, if his love for his foster mother kept him confined to that village, his whole potential would have been wasted, That kind of love is a leg shackle that keeps you from achieving your destiny. That is what Chanakya means.

Time and again you proved that you are great in writing and analysis with again a great analysis on episode 6 aunty
Everything is well written here and I fully agree to this
ONE POINT FROM ME -
AC SAID THAT CHANDRA YOU HAVE TO NOT THINK ABOUT LOVE AND CHANDRA ALSO SAID HE WILL NEVER BE IN LOVE
BUT I WANT TO SAY THAT LOVE IS NOT ALWAYS DISTRACTION AND OF BETWEEN A GIRL AND BOY
IT CAN BE BETWEEN OUR FAMILY MEMBERS FREINDS RELATIVES MOTHERLAND(HERE) AND IF THERE IS NO LOVE IN CHANAKYA AND CHANDRA THEN HOW CAN THEY SERVE THERE MOTHERLAND
ALSO SINCE CHANAKYA WENT TO NAND DESPITE KNOWING THAT HE DO NOT LIKE BRAHMINS ONLY COZ OF HIS LOVE FOR HIS MATRIBHOOMI ONLY
rest is good except that fight of RT in entry which is really over the top
Acting wise all were good there were no many scenes of RT and SBP but in little stint they impressed
But the episode regarding in acting or screen space goes to CHANAKYA(MANOJ K ) and yess really want good scenes between Chanakya-chandra(coz it's my prime reason to watch the show)

Thank you, my dear Subha. It is good to have you here on my threads. You were one of the few truly dispassionate observers and commentators in the EDTs, who never hesitated to accept a different approach or assessment that convinced you.

The point you have made in the first para is an interesting and plausible one. But he can still thrash her and seize it. What I was surprised about was that Chandra did not try to attack that Jabali physically, with some sort of instrument. Children in such circumstances at times kill the father to save the mother.

As for Chanakya's ban on prem, I think what he means is the kind of love that would distract Chandra from his duty. Not the kind that would strengthen him and give him a purpose in life. Chandra's foster mother's so-called love for her husband is a case in point. Also, if his love for his foster mother had kept him confined to that village, his whole potential would have been wasted, That kind of love is a leg shackle that keeps you from achieving your destiny. That is what Chanakya means.

As for the rest of your laments about TV serial heroes, it is spot on, alas!😉

Lovely analysis.👏

I want to add few points.

Chandra gave Chanakya's money to his mother and told her never to give them to her drunkard wife beater husband. He even warned that wife beater that if he again hits his mother,he will kill him.At first I thought one slap and the woman will give away the money but then I realized, she tolerated all the physical torture but when that man would hit chandra, she used to give up and throw the money on his face.So now that Chandra is gone, she will definitely tolerate all that tortures again but will not give him a single penny.

Regarding Chanakya, I wrote yesterday that Manoj Kolhatkar is doing a good job but his characterization still needs to improve a lot.He told CGM that u should not have kindness, compassion, love, etc.,in ur heart. Was that for the enemy or for mankind? If Chandra can't have kindness and compassion for fellow human beings then how will he save others from atrocities of Padmanand?Trust me,all those dialogues,"u only have to listen to ur brain and not ur heart.U should not love anyone blah blah blah" would have no effect as Chandra is definitely going to do everything that his heart says like every daily soap hero.😆

Rajat's and Swetha's entry scenes were filmy and OTT but that has become a norm in every daily soap nowadays.

Every daily soap hero and heroine listen to their hearts and most of the times make dumbest and idiotic decisions so sometimes they should use their brains too which for some weird reason, they don't. 😆
