1. Ever heard the military technique of misleading the enemy. Ashok perhaps thought he could fool Keechu by making him think that he was going on a yachting expedition you see! Rajkumars those days had atrocious and silly hobbies and pastimes. He wanted to let Keechak think something like that while he thought he would land up in his backyard with his fellow vacationers(his army) and take him by surprise. But to his consternation, Keechak was cleverer than Ashok and ferreted out inside info from Patliputra and destroyed the whole army of vacationers even before they landed.

2. The king and princess of Kalinga are two cartoons who got lost in history. I tried to somehow receive both these chatacters sympathetically. But it is really not working. I have ended up losing more hairs here than even before exams. Finally I sat in front of the Bodhi tree and meditated over everything and made peace with this ultimate truth and found bliss in life.

PS: The people of Odissa got offended with all this and put a case on the PH for this precise reason. I bet the name "Jagannath " after Puri Jagannath was like jale peh namak chidakna.

P.S.I understand that coz I am an Odia myself.This is why the portrayal of the King of Kalinga makes me all the more angry.And as far as the 'princess' is concerned,her historical counterpart was no princess.She belonged to the community of fishermen but she was 10000000 times better than her CAS counterpart.

PS: Astoria you have every right to be pissed off with the characterization of SWMNBN. If you are an odia, it makes matters worse. You must be knowing more about the original KVk and what kind of a person she was! Rant away to your heart's content.
