Though you can read gray after dark and Thursday murder club series, gray after dark can be a bit triggering though

Some of mary kubica's works are good, but some (like a good girl) are mehendi

Also, i liked then she was gone by Lisa jewel

His & her, I can never shut up about that one

Wait I’ve got His and Hers on my TBR! Good to know!

I’ve only read Mary Kubica’s Local woman missing. What others are good by her?

Glad you liked Then she was gone - although I could see the twist coming, I still liked it. I like Lisa Jewell’s writing.

I picked up Thursday Murder club twice and DNFed. But now that I’ve seen the movie, idk if I should read cos obviously I’m spoiled.

It started for you? I did it once it crossed 200?

Stuti said in the winner announcement of how she wasn't keeping track so that got my brain working, since I know atleast four people in my team are trying for a new badge🤭

I think the first one appealed to me coz it has oldies figuring out the new tech while solving murder, both of which I like🤭second was also interesting.

Yeah, because of the fritzl case, I could figure of the story pretty soon

Mary Kubica's Local woman and couple next door (or something like that) was good, but not a good girl, like it was decent at best.

Lee smiley31 Oh well, the book blew my mind. The description of guilt and insanity (when he starts to hallucinates), it just pulls the reader into Raskolnikov’s psyche. How he feels before the murder, and how he feels after the murder, how he tries to save himself and then eventually decides to surrender, everything is so honestly written. I can’t praise it enough!

Yeah, those were an issue because as a reader I was more invested in Raskolnikov. But the writer had written the book in abject poverty and he used to get paid for every word he wrote. So, there’s that.

Yeah, it was incredible. I have never read anything as gripping as C&P, though, it took me about 3 months to finish it and I used audio book for some parts to keep me goingsmiley36

If you're up to it, do watch the 1970 version of movie adaptation on YouTube. It's the closest to the book.

P.S: Since you like books with intense emotions, I really recommend reading Still Alice by Lisa Genova😬👉👈 I posted my review here if you wanna get the gist of it.

Even I couldn’t finish C&P if it wasn’t an audiobook. I would have gotten intimidated way earlier had I known how thick that book actually is 🤣 At the same time, the book is too gripping and too honest to put down. Wow, that’s interesting. I’ll bookmark the movie. ❤️

Thanks for the recommendation! It looks really intense tearjerker. Adding it to my to-read list 🙈 Have you read My Mom My Hero by Lisa R. Hirsch? It’s a memoir where she documents her mother's Alzheimer’s journey, where she eventually forgets her daughter. You can give it a try if you also like intense books.

And the best part about the Still Alice book is that the author herself is a neuroscientist, so writing about Alzheimer's is her speciality, which makes it 10 times better with the accuracy and emotions.

OH, another Alzheimer's book?!!smiley3 Running to add it to my TBR!!
