I got a bunch of recs from them, have to list them all out smiley36

But I have these ready to read for now:

1. We could be so good - Cat Sebastian

2. The Queer Principles of Kit Webb - Cat Sebastian

3. Delilah Green doesn't care - Ashley Herring Blake

4. The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo- Taylor Jenkins Reed

5. To catch a Firefly - Emmy Sanders

6. The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller

I've also read these in the past:

1. Everything for you - Chloe Liese (part of a series but this one features an MM romance)

2. Let Love Rule - Frances M. Thompson (Both leads are Bi, and it's quote smutty smiley9)

3. Red, white and Royal blue - Casey McQuiston

4. Unromance - Erin Connor (The FMC is Bi)

You read so much and know about so many books! smiley3

Can someone recommend me a romance novel where the supporting character/couple fit the theme of LGBTQ+?

These are a few LGBTQ romcoms I'd shortlisted recently

Love at First Set - Jennifer Dugan

The Pairing - Casey McQuiston

One Last Stop - Casey McQuiston

D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding - Chencia C Higgins

Imogen Obviously - Becky Abertalli

The Three Lives of Cate Kay - Kate Fagan (this is not exactly a typical romcom from what I understand, but it's a contemporary romance with a hint of mystery)

The Brilliant Death - A R Capetta (this is a romantasy)

TBH I’ve heard this about both Helen Hoang and Elena Armas - that the rest of their books (apart from the first big hit) aren’t all that great.

Btw, if you liked Soulmate equation you should try True love experiment. I liked that one even better.

Honestly, it's a pity I didn't like The Bride Test too much bcz I really loved Khai, the ML. I'd never read a romance novel featuring an autistic character before, and this character really spoke out to me and I was rooting for him to get the HEA he deserved. But unfortunately the FL just didn't connect. I had a whole list of complaints about her but every time I tried to write it down, I ended up even more irritated.. so I just ignored it smiley24 The book is in dual POV and every time I just waited for the FL chapters to be over so that ML chapters could start. I'm aware that her POV was a necessary foil to understand the contrast between the two, but I really didn't feel like going through it at all. This book almost put me in a slump. Thank god for the other authors that I read in May, they managed to get me out 🙏🙏

But even so, like I said in the review, I will end up finishing that book at some point smiley36 bcz I need to see my boy Khai regain his self-worth and find his happy ending 🥺❤️

I'm still gonna read Hoang's The Kiss Quotient bcz that one is hugely popular. I decided to read this one first bcz it was easily available. I didn't know this author's books had that reputation — I'd actually heard it about Elle Kennedy instead. I'd read the Boyfriend back before it got the hype, and I loved that book so very much. I was sure I was gonna enjoy more from the author. But instead the next two books I read of hers were kinda... off? I didn't connect to them as much. And apparently a lot of ppl felt the same way

I'm kinda wary about reading The Love Experiment bcz my Soulmate Equation copy had a preview for it, and it didn't get me much curious. I loved Fizzy in TSE but idk if I care enough to continue the world 😅

What were your thoughts on TSE?

Believe me, I felt the same about TLE, given that I had a few niggles with TSE and like you didn't feel as invested in the world or Fizzy. But TLE did surprise me. It's been a while since I read TSE but I remember being really annoyed at the third act break up and River. At any rate, I liked Connor way more than I did River.

I've read The Kiss Quotient and weirdly enough, I feel the same about the FMC in this one. I liked the MMC, Michael way better though Stella is supposed to be the autism rep.

I've found this happens with many romance novelists though. They know their major audience is female, so they try and make the MMC really appealing so women can swoon over potential book boyfriends smiley36 and in the process end up sacrificing the FMC's character.

If you want a book with autism rep though, i'd recommend Act your age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert. Both leads are on the spectrum and are funny, quirky and endearing af. Talia Hibbert is so under-rated, I find no one mentions her while talking about romance authors and that's such a shame.

Another overhyped book that I didn't really like was The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas, so now I'm not really inclined to reading the rest of the series.
