So I keep hearing about the Kindle. So many people have bought it and love it. They say the ebooks are cheaper too. I looked up the prices and they are barely a couple dollars cheaper. That's it!

What I want to know is do you actually think the kindle will replace the published books? Do we have people here who think a couple dollars is nothing to pay for those lovely books...? To hold them in your hands and flip the pages as you read?

I've never been a fan of ebooks, in fact, if I try to read to much on my laptop, I get headaches. I've heard that the kindle screen is different though.. so it doesn't hurt your eyes or what not.. I guess I should mention the plus point of the kindle too. You can carry more than 500 books with you in that little kindle. Easily accessible and to carry.

Do you think the kindle is a good replacement for the centuries old paper books?

No, i don't think Kindle is a replacement for books...Books can never be replaced...I never used Kindle...but still books has its own merits...i have read eBooks and sometimes it does hurt my eye...reading books in its book form is more good...it doesn't hurt your eye and gives me the satisfaction of owning the books...that's why i don't read on kindle or read eBooks.😃

Same's true with me. I just can't read ebooks. In fact, if I have to read like 10+ pages article, I even print that out to read. For some reason, I can't really focus if I'm not holding the book/papers in my hands.

For me, nothing can ever replace the books. However, the online news websites and all are giving a tough competition to the newspapers.. Even though I think they'll always be around, it's just interesting how technology sort of takes over our lives.

I got a Kindle a couple of months ago for the sole reason that I literally have no more space to put my books :/ I can't bear the thought of parting with them but I can't stop reading new ones either so I got one... it's actually very nice! Of course, it's different than a real book but it doesn't feel like you're reading on an electronic device either... it looks as close to a real page as it can get :)
