Priyanka Chopra Ditches Saroj Khan
Just a few days ago, one heard of how Priyanka Chopra made director Madhur Bhandarkar change the climax of his film Fashion so that it suited her image. It seems that she is at it again. This time the actress has walked out of choreographer–turned director Saroj Khan's film Sati, which was expected to go on the floors by this month.
The actress is believed to have walked out of the film as she believes that the role will take her away from commercial cinema. The veteran dance director had roped in Priyanka to play the lead in her film, which has been written by Makarand Despnade. Intially, Priyanka had jumped at the offer but later backed out. She had four script narrating sessions and when Saroj went to meet her for the fifth time, Priyanka told her that she had signed a three-film deal with UTV. Saroj was furious as she was paying her the market price. Earlier, too, when Saroj wanted to make a film with Madhuri Dixit, the latter refused the offer and instead worked with Vaibhavi Merchant in her comeback film, Aaja Nachle. Later Saroj decided to make another film and approached Makarand to write the script for the film. This time she chose Priyanka. But now it seems that she will have to start her search all over again. The story of Sati is about an actress who gets a role based on her best friend who was a sati.
