A new breed of directors have taken Bollywood by storm in the recent years resulting in varied kind of films like Omkara, Golmaal and Jab We Met. We tried to 'figure' out how much these brave men are worth.
Anurag Basu: After giving back to back hits like Gangster and Life in Metro, Anurag has started demanding Rs. 2 - 2.5 crore. Anurag started his career as a director in television before joining the Bhatt camp.
Imtiaz Ali: Post Jab We Met's success, he is charging Rs 2 crore per film. He had earlier directed Socha Na Tha starring Ayesha Takia and Abhay Deol.
Vishal Bharadwaj: The maker of impressive films like Omkara, Maqbool, he charges Rs 1 to 1.5 crore as a co-producer.
Siddharth Anand: One of the six directors from the Yash Raj camp, the Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum maker charges around Rs 2 crore. His new project stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif and is inspired by the Holllywood film Chasing Pappi.
Big production houses like Ashtavinayak Films, UTV, Adlabs Films, Eros International hire directors on contract for around 3 years.
