I saw tzp............and i would say its overhyped and nothing else.
darsheel was good and was the main attraction
otherwise its a pretty random story
its more like an emotional drama instead of the treatment against this disorder 😕

it touched majority hearts because generally these kind of stories r very sensitive and since it was a child story too.. itsnot really a great cinema....

Acc. to me guru was exceptional and should win the best film of 2007 😊

i agree with Maya_m, i didnt like the ending...it was so artifical..
how the kid stood first in the competition didnt seem realistic.. 😕

but overall it was a sweet film 😊 😳

Why couldnt Ishaan stand first...he was shown to be a good artist...Nikhumbh says he is a genius when he examines his paintings...

and a film has to have a climax...how do you think it would have done if they showed that Ishaan is improving and the film just ends...it wouldnt have been a hit...

to learn facts about dyslexia I suggest ppl should go watch a documentary...

TZP was a Bollywood movie...a story about a dyslexic boy...not a Phd thesis...

Just MHO...Sorry to have posted a cartoon and started a war out here! 😃

The movie had to show why Ishaan was not good in school so had to show the disorder. But the movie forgot to show why Ishaan was dis-obedient? 😉

maya,

nikhumb does mention that all his behavioral problems are just a way to hide his shortcomings due to the dyslexia!

I have a feeling that after reading all the discussion here on IF the movie is going to be a big let down for you. So save yourself the trouble and watch My Name is Anthony Gonzales instead 😃😃

Again my point is that an educated mother like Ishaan's couldn't use any other tactic to understand his troubling behaviour. Dyslexia is a common disorder and not a disease. That alone cannot be a reason for his dis-obedience. From what I saw in the first half unlike his brother he needed more attention from his mother but she was too busy scolding and shouting at him. It took a preachy Nikumbh to understand their child's problems. Had a parent given some attention it is possible to correct reading disability. Even non-dyslexic kids sometimes behave the same way.

Fine. He was a good artist. But what was the need to stand first? I thought the movie was an awareness for the parents (and not just a commercial cinema) to not push kids towards anything. So ideal ending would have been Ishaan attempting it and may be getting second or third. But by winning first prize it again showed the peer pressure students face of always coming first. Rightly what this cartoon depicts.

This is strictly my view. I respect yours. It is just a film afterall and open to analysis.
