Remember how the decoration lights used to light up the screen in the 'Didi tera devar deewana song' of Sooraj Barjatya's blockbuster hit HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN...? Aditya Chopra and his marketing team were planning a similar thing for the title track of JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM.

While the lights in the HAHK...! were non-intrusive, the lights that were comtemplated for JBJ were to be laser lights of the kind found in discotheques. The intention was to create a disco-like atmosphere in the cinema hall during this song in the film, so that the audience could spring out of their seats and start dancing in front of the screen with Amitabh Bachchan.

The film's makers were also seriously considering distributing whistles in the auditorium so that the public could blow them to express their joy during the song.

However, after a lot of deliberations, Shaad Ali Sehgal, the director of JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM, felt that the lights and the whistle would be too intrusive and would take away the impact of the energetic picturisation. And the disco lights and the whistles went out of the window. So, if you feel like dancing in the aisles while watching JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM today, you know who to blame for the lack of ambience!
