The cigarette shop is located just behind Juhu Gymkhana and is in the same lane where superstar and India's superman Hrithik Roshan lives. It's just seven blocks away from Hrithik's house, to be precise. While smoking at the shop, we struck up a casual conversation with Kalandar paanwallah, as he is known, who seemed more than ready to chat with us. Since he is located in the heart of Juhu, where many of our celebrities live, we casually asked him about his celeb clientele. And he proudly told us something that left us pretty surprised. "Many actors come here, actors like Hrithik Roshan, Fardeen Khan, Dannysaab," he said. When we corrected him and said that Hrithik does not smoke, the paanwallah became adamant. "Of course, he does," he said. (Yes, despite our surprise, we did remember to push the 'record' button on our Dictaphone and record him.) Now, we've always known that Hrithik neither smokes nor drinks. And here was Kalandar paanwallah saying that he buys and smokes Benson Lights quite regularly at his shop. The paanwallah, who by now was convinced that we were a couple of die-hard Hrithik fans who had come in the hope of spotting some stars at his shop, really warmed up to us. He went on to describe how Hrithik and his group of friends used to frequent his shop in big groups earlier, but that rarely all come together. Now, apparently, each one comes to his shop separately. Kalandar Paanwaala Not so long ago, Hrithik had told a journalist from bharatmatrimony.com, "I drink lots of water and stay away from alcohol and cigarettes. I believe nothing is bad in moderation but things like smoking and drinking are difficult to moderate." So what is Kalandar paanwallah talking about?

Hehe lol,I dont think some random paanwalah's statements should be taken too seriously.I mean,how do we know he isnt plainly bragging to get some attention.

And anyways,I never take what stars say too seriously.Most of them lie,who what's the big deal about Hrithik lying??

Hritik buys cigerrets for his wife Susanne. She smokes, not him. I know that for a fact, since I saw that at San Francisco a few years back when Hritik, Susanne, Lara Dutta and Kelly Dorji were staying at the Hyatt Regency at Union Square for a week or so before the start of their live shows. I was staying at the same hotel and ran into Hritik at the hotel gym and saw him buying cigerettes at the small shop in the hotel on at least 4 occasions during that time. He is a health freak. The other three folks were always 15 feet from the hotel's entance smoking on many occasions when I left in the morning or returned in the evening. California has strict rules about smoking inside and outside in public places. If I remember correctly Celina Jettley was puffing away with them on one occasion as well.

That paanwala surely sells the cigerettes to Hritik, however his two and two do not add to four. Trust me they are for Susanne. A box of Benson & Hedges Lights was the brand that Susanne and Kelly had in their hands everytime I ran into them outside the hotel.

that's soo cool bunbutt_too that you actually met hrithik and suzanne!!!! have you ever talked to them? 😛 😛 😛

however it does seem a little strange that suzanne smokes...she should know better...anyways that's a personal choice

No I did not talk to them, but I did talk briefly to Lara and Kelly one evening. They wanted to know a good place to eat and I recommended the Stinking Rose. At first they thought I was BSing. However they did give me the thumbs up the next day as we were going in opposite directions. I assume they must have liked the Italian place after all😉

I know Lara smokes,so does Preity,I've seen them smoking..But the fact the Sussanne smokes comes a shock😲.

hrithik NEVER denied tht he smokes......he does smoke but very rarely...he's not a chain smoker...and he even drinks red wine...n Irish Cream Whisky is his fav drink..I dunno why ppl r shocked hearing such news? Smoking is the easiest way for these actors to cope with work related stress(although I dont advocate using smoking to deal with stress).

Preity smokes? If that is true I am totally destroyed ? Tell me you are kidding? Her voice does not suggest that she has that disguisting habbit of smoking in any way, shape or form. Please I like Ms. Zinta. Don't destroy her image for me If she did smoke let that be in the past p.l.e.a.s.e
