I completely understand your take, Dirdam, and even to me, it seems strange what some actors take as a fitting movie to them...but in the end, it's cinema, it's making believe, and VFX is a part of that. So, basically, I'm not against making an actor younger if it is part of the story... however, if the energy is missing (and also the youthfulness), it becomes a bit 'displaced'. Looking at Coolie, e.g., it didn't fit, imo...
That doesn't change my opinion about not defending the actor one loves through comparisons with other actors... I tend to just highlight everything positive about the beloved actor (without mentioning others, though)
As for Sid: in no way is he a 'bad' actor... so much depends on the director and - in his case - on a producer who doesn't seem to be serious to support that he prospers (maybe Sid didn't do the casting couch is what I've thought more than once...like Sushant certainly didn't either...)
Aryan's series has this - among many other things - as a subject...and I very much liked what the protagonist's (Aasmaan's) father told him about not loosing the self-respect.
