Actually, I doubt that Vanga deserves a lauding for the way he showcased this - rather mundane - statement (through my reading, I got the feeling that Vanga revels in the violence he depicted).

I like this! It makes clear the difference between making a product to sell and the nature of the product...

One could extend this for the fabrication of weapons, the people employed to kill other people, the women employed in laboratories, the women getting payed to test medicaments ... (well, the possibilities are manifold)

Kabir Singh was condemned by everyone. I have not even watched the film. But did stop Vanga? No, it made him worse. He enjoys and relishes criticism. That is one sadistic fellow

To stop him one will have to stop watching his movies

True. Kabir Singh Was a huge Blockbuster. It only got criticism from some progressive people. That's why it didnt stop Vanga

Only Box Office matters, not what some critics think. And looking at Animal it seems it will be even more successful than Kabir Singh so I think most Indians just dont care about sexist movies. I mean there was more backlash for Pathan because Deepika wore an orange Bikini than this

The Problem is glorifying sexism. It was already a problem in KS when he got his cheesy happy ending and now in this movie it feels like RK's character is also glorified and portrayed as "Alpha".

The average Person will take the wrong message from this. I have seen Videos of men shooting at all those exist scenes

watched Animal, (spoilers) and rk's character is presented as a hero, a flawed hero, but he is presented as a hero. He is shown to be doing all of this violence to save his father, to avenge him. he is shown to be a 'caring' brother even when he brings a gun to his sisters college and threatens everyone. He is shown as a caring husband as he helped his wife when she gave birth even though he physically abuses her and sleeps with another woman.

Even in the last scene his father apologises to him for not being so involved in his life and he has a cutesy scene where his son runs upto him and hugs him with a cutesy song playing in the background.

the film does glorify rk's character, yes they show him as being violent and deranged, but they constantly give excuses to what he is doing. The film presents him as being desirable and sexy even through all of his deranged behaviour, his family keep forgiving him for the horrible things he keeps doing, there is no law and order, do the police even exist in the film? There are no repercussions to what rk's character does, he should have gone to jail or atleast died, or his family should have all cut ties with him, but none of that happens. He can beat up 100's of people single handedly, have six bullets shot at him, have concussions, go into severe heart failure, yet he still survives and is fit as ever, wow what an invincible hero!

and whats worse, for the sequel of the film, apparently its going to be called animal park, it is implied that rks character is going to try to save his family from aziz, so he will be even more presented as a hero

Sadly films like animal will keep being made solely to make money, even if the writing and direction is bad, even if the film is so toxic and problematic. Film making has really gone down hill. And actors will keep wanting to do such movies because it gives them the 'superstar' tag that they so desperately want. It's now more about let's just add things to create controversy and shock rather than actual story telling and quality writing.

And this whole papa son relationship was a joke in the film, he apparently loves his papa more than anything, will do anything to make him happy, but throughout the film all rks character does is disagree and say no to his dad smiley29 he knows that what he is doing is not going to make his dad happy but he still does it. So this is not a story about a papa and son, its about a son using his supposed love for his papa as an excuse for being a horrible person

He has fans and a reddit subsection dedicated to him.

It is not only desi women who idolize toxic men. Atleast Animal is a fiction movie. smiley36

There are studies about the kind of women who do what you describe...not one of them is emotionally fit and stable...

However, you're right...this is 'only' about a movie...although a movie that reflects a certain desire which is dealt with in a strongly one-sided way...and who would deny that in women, there also live bloodthirsty animals...also in kids, violence live.

Movies cater to all things that live in us...like books do...and theatre plays... because they can...

Thank you for saying this.

Yesterday, someone was saying Vanga wants to work with SRK. I will cut up my fan card that day. People like SRK and Ranbir are in the position to say no to this kind of toxic crap.

Still not blaming Ranbir as much for it because (arm chair psychoanalysis) many artists are selfish. They can act in a movie for money and fame but not think like the character. Vanga, though...

Also, I can normally separate art from artist, or I wouldn't enjoy Anne Perry books. But Vanga has made it clear he and his art are the same.

You are assuming that women are celebrating the glorification of violence against women and you're going out to fight over this narrative. I have been through both Animal topics and no one is cheering or celebrating or supporting the violence against a woman.

Why is Ranbir not blamed as much? Ranbir is no starving artist, he is rich, and has the ability to pick which movies he wants to do. Vanga made this movie to make $$$$. Ranbir decided to star in it for $$$. Why blame the audience who goes to watch a movie??

I feel like we are living in a time where it is so cool to criticize feminists. I saw it in a few of the Animal reviews where they were taking digs at feminists. As soon as we start to blame or shame women we start to suppress them and we forget toxic men like Vanga who get away with everything. It happens a lot in reality. Why was she out late at night? What was she wearing? What did she say to him that he hit her? The women are always questioned, and blamed first in a country, where they are subjected to domestic violence. So I don't agree with shaming or blaming women for watching a movie created by a man. I do think things will change the day toxic men are actually held responsible for their actions.

A friend asked want to watch Animal and I said no. Hated the trailer. Dislike the mindless action and gory killings just coz. Qtiyapa. Normalizes violence. I can never watch a movie for slick action scenes. I find it extremely dumb.

About Feminism,
Females supports biggest forms of patriarchy and even defends it in 21st century. Defending their favorite male actor is least of concern at this point.

I also dislike actors who acts in item songs. Item songs are one of the main reasons for eve teasing and harassment. All BW leading ladies and actorshave acted in it and continue to do so. I always wonder how can you dance in a song where premise is 100 men are lusting after you. 🤷‍♀️ and then go on social media and lecture lesser mortals.
