Vanga is toxic piece of crap. But the women who applaud violence on women should take a bow.

Do you mean the box office celebration?? That is never ending. I don't think they are celebrating the movie and more so Ranbir's success.

I am with you on Vanga being a toxic piece of crap. There is going to be a sequel to this violent movie which is going to be even more violent.

See, if Change is what is desired? A solution can be to boycott all such movies including movies by Metoo Accuse and other predators

That will make a dent in their financial success which is ultimately what is desired.

If they face loss, they would not make such movies

Kabir Singh was condemned by everyone. I have not even watched the film. But did stop Vanga? No, it made him worse. He enjoys and relishes criticism. That is one sadistic fellow

To stop him one will have to stop watching his movies

Not to make excuses, but whatever influence or contribution this movie may have on any acts of violence committed, odds are very high those will be committed by boys or men.

I understand calling out the hypocrisy though. I even agree with it. Ranveer Singh got dragged through the wringer last year for posing strategically nude. Same with Deepika and the orange bikini. Yet Ranbir’s blurry ding dong on the big screen doesn’t seem to be an issue. What was everyone’s reaction to all the kissing and love scenes in Gehriyaan? And to Deepika doing those scenes? But Ranbir laying naked on top of Tripti or practically motorboating Rashmika doesn’t seem to have garnered any strong reactions. Ranveer is actually getting dragged again right now for praising Johnny Depp (stupid move btw, wtf was he thinking?) at an event today/yesterday. I can guarantee it that if Animal wasn’t out this weekend Ranbir fans would have gone to town with it.

As for who’s to blame for a movie like Animal? Vanga. Yes the producers and actors brought his idea to fruition. But this is his brain child.

Here’s an old video of Aamir Khan that is very relevant to this topic.

Agreed. I do not know what the context for this thread is. But Nobody gets to gate keep feminism and tell other women how to be, who to like, what to choose. A true feminist stands up for other women’s right to choose even if that choice is against her own interpretation of feminism. Letting women have a voice and choice in any matter is literally the basic tenet of feminism.

Sk, it never used to be an individual woman's interpretation of feminism that violence against women shouldn't be glorified. It was a very basic requirement.

Maybe I'm just getting older and denser where I just can't believe that, too, is considered a feminist right. I mean we are not talking about general democracy where freedom of speech is the foundation, and any piece of crap can spew anything. We're talking about feminism.

Anyway, I'm banging my head against the wall at this point. I suppose nothing teaches like personal experience, and very few these days have had the personal experience of what it is like to live in a world where you need to fear going out after dark. Because you're a woman. Or what it is to fear going home. Because you're a woman.

That's not fair. Because I have that fear every day and every hour of the day. I am sure every woman here does.

To disregard someone's personal experience now is going too far

Aamir is so right. Thanks for the heads up about Ranveer! FOD will likely be preparing that topic in a few hours.

I guess I don't understand it because even if SRK were in this movie, I could not have celebrated it. This is just a glorification of attacks on women as part of what makes a man a man.

Who is disregarding? I'm speculating maybe that's why they're celebrating this toxic crap. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that someone who understands it can still have a party about this.
