He struggled with substance abuse all his life and I mean really struggled he spent 9 million dollars, dozen surgeries, 15 times in rehab, and 6 thousand AA visits. He wrote an entire book about his experiences but he was finally sober after a lifelong fight with addiction. There are interviews where he shares how he doesn’t even remember shooting some of the scenes of Friends cause he was high he also mentions how he would take 50 Vicodin a day. (He was taking all sorts of drugs) He had to have massive massive stomach surgery to fix the damages done by the pills/alcohol he also had heart issues caused by that. When he had the surgery he was given 2% of survival but he made it. It’s sad he always gave all of us so much joy through Chandler but he spend the better part of his life not actually living and die alone. Now when he finally thought he was able to get his life together he’s gone.Originally posted by: VintageWine
