My thoughts....
1. No Mobile Number verification. IF is not as safe a site as Insta, Twitter....from personal experience I have been redirected to an unsafe site numerous times when logged in from my laptop. Never has happened with the other sites. So will I share my number? No. And, yes, I use an ad blocker, anti-virus, and what not.
2. Ban religious and political talks. Have stricter measures - increase warning by 20% straight for this. No one here is mature enough to carry these discussions in a mature manner without getting personal. As very evident just in this topic. I don't care who is Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, or an alien. I come here for an escape - have some stupid, fun discussions. Why does it matter what religion or faith I follow? And please don't use the India name in this website as an excuse ji. This site was created in 2005 and India was most likely to unite a brown community from all wakes of life - not just those of India or origin of India. No one is a bechara anywhere, and everyone is a bechara somewhere.
3. You can put email verification methods, send codes to email; expire password every 6 months with 15 days to change or "lose" your account (Vijay would then need to set up a helpdesk to recover account), but I do not agree with cell numbers. You cannot ban new IDs - we were all new once. That is just discrimination. Not every new ID is a MID.
4. It's only wrong when it happens to you or your friends. Same people do the same to people they don't like ji. We all intentionally or unintentionally have done it. Either we speak up for all bullying/harassment or stop being so selective. Or have the decency to own up to it. But it's a cycle. Fans will feel targeted, a certain section will...it's ongoing. One thing we need to remember though - we are not accountable, nor should be held accountable, for another's actions - good or bad. We are our own person.
5. Let mods tell people to grow up behave like the adults they are. Stop the whining and behave civilly. No energy is expended in being kind, but so much is in being horrible to one another. Ban people who are bullies right away for a 6 month period, and ban all their IDs. Give consequences to actions. Go out and live in the real world. If someone online is making you have such a visceral reaction, get off of here and breathe. No one should have that kind of control over you, let alone from the online world.
6. Ignore. If they are trying to get you to react, ignore ji. Koi jung nahi jeet leni by getting the last word in. If it is a cybercrime, by all means, go for it and report it - and report it big.
