Who glorifies cheating more
Just look up all the songs Taylor has about cheating. Not just all the boys who cheated on her - but love triangles, consciously cheating and hooking up with others in a relationship while in a relationship. And it's all so hauntingly beautiful.
Who doesn't screech "Don't call me kid, don't call me baby?" Whose heart doesn't break for August who tries to break apart James and Betty, "cause, you were mine to lose?" And who can listen to Ivy and not root for the cheating couple "it's a goddamn blaze in the dark and you started it? Heck, April 29th is even High Infidelity Day.
On the other hand, we have KJo who made one movie about cheating and included cheating side plots in other movies.
Who glorifies cheating more? Most interestingly how does one remain beloved Miss Americana and the other become become a skank who glorifies cheating?

Did Trump Just Remove ALL SANCTIONS on India ? (Doubtful news)
Taylor strikes as a straight-A student who would snitch on you if you try to cheat in the exams. Karan on the other hand has frequently glorified cheating in academic (SOTY) and sports settings (SOTY, KKHH). I will have to go with Karan.
It's not "glorifying" imo, it's using it.
Cheating has become a common part of life...like lying.
Cheating is a moral transgression...like lying.
Cheating is hurting someone emotionally when it gets revealed...like lying
...and people who cheat have the undeniable tendency to not only lie to others but also to themselves.
But actually, one can't really lie to oneself...so, at the end, cheating makes otheres unhappy but also oneself.
At the end remains the question: then why cheat, after all?
Well, when wanting and fearing go hand in hand and one hasn't the strength/courage/heart to overcome the fear, the easiest way out seems cheating/lying...

I think the old Taylor for sure would do that.
New Taylor can be a bit cray.

Honestly, that's how I feel about it.
Cheating will always be a morally immoral shady thing to do. However, cheating exists in the world and it is something we all deal with some time or the other. It would be unrealistic to expect that movies or TV shows never ever show anyone cheating.
IMHO the old comedies where a cheating husband was the highlight and the wife had to forgive everything in the end were toxic. But KJo is at least trying to show it realistically. In KANK he showed how unhappy marriages lead to cheating. In RARKPK he showed how regrets and resentments in youth can lead to cheating later. But I found them to be shoddy storytelling.
I think where Taylor Swift succeeds in making cheating palatable even to conservative audiences is she's a fantastic storyteller. I mean KJo is a great storyteller too when it comes to massy family dramas, especially geared toward NRIs. But in her songwriting, Taylor evokes a lot more complex emotions and makes you feel for all characters. You simply cannot root for KJo's cheating protagonists like you do August, James, the lovers in Ivy, and more.
both are major drama queens
I want to quote the great saint Matthias Healius The First's words as to offer some insight into why people cheat.
"I swear that I
I only called her one time
Maybe it was two times?
Don't think it was three times
Can't be more than four times
Think we need to rewind
You text that boy sometimes
Must be more than three times
Didn't mean to two-time, to two-time you"
What about the movies made on murders. Are they murderers
That's not the sense of the question, Maroon...
telling something is not - forcibly - being what one tells.
RTH, I agree with you.
Yet I have to say that I don't know Taylor's work enough.
Karan had been a good storyteller...I've just the feeling that his personality has changed throughout the years and that reflects in the storytelling.
Btw., I didn't cast a vote.
