Nag Ashwin's vision is great. It is unlike Ayaan and Omraut..😂. When a South director makes a film on Hinduism it is definitely going to be treated with utmost care and respect to the asthetic ( leaps and bounds beyond bollywood). Having said that there are such stories which have tanked like Shakti and recently Shakuntalam. This teaser looks promising and even though there is a lot of inspiration from Dune in terms of VFX the story looks promising.

Prabhas looks hot and masculine. DP is looking sexy. She had a great chemistry in a two second cameo with Rana in YJHD. Always wanted to see her with South actors.

This looks like an intense story. It looks futuristic but there is a time travel angle here and from the glimpse it looks like a man from past is brought into the future and I am sure all the actors have meaty roles.

They are not superhero films for anybody to 'interpret' neither are they mythology or epics as some people derogatively refer to it, maybe some do it unknowingly while for some it is intentional.

It is a good thing that movies like Brahmastra and Adipurush flopped indicating people have completely rejected such cinematic liberty and interpretation nonsense.

If you want to make a sci-fi film, go ahead and do it, just make it a purely sc-fi film don't try to root it in Hinduism, and if you want to root it in Hinduism may be refer to concepts and not to Bhagwan and Avatars.

There are many Indian sci-fi writers like Dr. Jayant Naralikar, Satyajit Ray, Bal Phondke and others who have written Indian Sci-fi stories, film makers can source their material from these stories for Sci-fi films.

The Indian niche in a Scifi is Hindusim. What else will a country so highly westernized post globalization and liberalization fit in? The writers back then were newly exploring the world of science and technology and their material was novel back in the day.

In the current scenario, if one write Sci-fi in terms of gory or Biowar the only endemic aspect for them would be finding a tone in either Vedas, Upanishads or Manusmriti to make it relatable to the Indian consciousness.

so they are brining kalki now. now that there is no scripture about kalki they can do whatever they want to do with the script.

kamal hassans inlcusion is the only hope as the man may not work in a terrible script.

Dollar Stone version of Dune.

South Indian directors recycle from other industries particularly Hollywood and Japan, just as much as everyone else. Odd double standard. 😆

South industry people expose themselves going pan-Indian.

I am curious how it goes for Rajamouli now with so much international attention. It's low key a struggle to find an original sequence in Baahubali.
